The spiritual leader of the spiritless Quokkas Cricket Club, The Rev wails for the state of sports administration generally, while wondering why he cares. Go Dees. The Rev can occassionally be heard on White Line Wireless @whitelinewire, or read on Twitter @revdanichols

G’day Don – great points around the coverage issues. It sounds like the good folk at 91.3 are doing a great job. I’d love to learn more if you want to get in touch via Twitter. Cheers
Hits and misses in the domestic one-day cup
Thanks AGordon, appreciate it.
I read somewhere that Wade has averaged 21 with the bat since coming back into the team, which is hardly what is needed. Australias tail has been awesome at batting for sometime, often keeping the team competitive, which does mean there is less reliance on the ‘keeper to score runs but doesn’t excuse them of it.
Australian cricket has entered bizarro world
Thanks Peter. I don’t own it, but I’d put my house on SOK not playing in the Ashes, even Lyon is no certainty to play the day-night Tests.
I reckon Uzzie being in the team in Brisbane is as certain as their being Bogans in the crowd.

DavSA – the Australian sports public would do well to ignore 100% of what I say
How to hate Joe Root
Cheers Chris. I think Clarke was easier to dislike as, rightly or wrongly, he came across as his own biggest fan and not much of a team man (e.g. the Katich neck-adjustment incident). Root, on the other hand, does not.
How to hate Joe Root
Yeah, ok, that was pretty good. But have you heard ‘Dream’ – even elevators reject it:
How to hate Joe Root
Thanks James. Without being too schoolyard; ROOT STARTED IT! He said he wanted to be public enemy #1, but I just find hating him too bloody hard. It was a stretch.

How’s that as a massive steaming fresh one on the doorstep of CA?
Chris Lynn in doubt for Big Bash after shoulder reconstruction
You’re right. Stocky is not a nice thing to say.
The team Australia should really take to Bangladesh
Wade was good in India? I’m sorry, at what?
ICC Champions Trophy 2017 form guide: How the Aussies are shaping up
Thanks Andre.
I really hope that Cricket Administrators get their collective act together and put some structure around the sport, making each game relevant and an event. Things like the Champions Trophy give the whole sport a sense of amateurism and tar the whole sport with the greedy brush.
An introduction to the Champions Trophy
Do you have any sauce to go with that chip on your shoulder?
Singling Watts out for being white, tall, attractive and wealthy doesn’t make him a bad person or deserving of criticism for the sake of it.
As a footballer he has managed to improve dramatically over the last 2 seasons after being shunted around different positions and being developed in the same way umpteen other draftees (e.g. Bleese, Strauss) from the Schwab era were.
This year he has regularly in the best for Melbourne and he kicked 38 Goals last year.
He isn’t a dominant #1 pick like Luke Hodge but is probably better than other #1 pick Josh Fraser. Remember, the 2008 draft also brought us Ty Vickery at #8.
Watts was taken with the #1 pick as Nick Nat stated he would only leave Perth if his family would come with him, something the Dees wouldn’t run at and also not Watts’ fault.
I agree that the clothing line is naff, but who cares?
Well done on getting comments, but maybe play the ball, not the man.,
The arguments for and against Jack Watts
Well done mate, well written and I agree entirely.
It appears that Melbourne expects to win this year, without putting in the hard work. They have been undisciplined and sloppy at times, which shows a general lack of commitment and discipline.
They have come a long way, but then they had no choice other than dropping out of the league entirely.
Will be interesting to see what Goodwin does to get them to knuckle down
Without substance, Dees can forget finals footy
Mate, great article! You are not “just” a 14 year old – you are yourself, someone with interests who can articulate them in a clear and engaging way. You should be proud of yourself. It was incredibly refreshing to hear what a young person thinks of the game & I’d appreciate any future articles you may have in you. Well done and keep them coming!

“England-like climate” has completely stumped me! You’d feel pretty ripped off as an Englishman if you took a holiday to India only for the same climate!
With the series on the line, what's worrying Australia?
