haha yea with parra, I am hoping the new stadium brings out a better side, however they got to win 2/3 away games aswell to avoid the spoon.
With the sharks I completely agree, theres just way too much that has gone on with them. Plus hiring a new coach with no experience will make it even harder for the team. A lot of experience lost + a lot of attacking flair too with holmes gone, hene they miss the 8 imo.
Agree with storm, Bellamy will not let them slack off at all and dont forget they still have a very decent forward pack led by players like jesse bromwich (who imo was the best prop in the game a couple of years ago)
I think the father/son thing will be fine. Lets just hope there is no more coach dramas with Phil Gould (which I dont see happening)
You arent wrong, Gagai is an awesome winger and shouldnt be anywhere else, especially once robert jennings goes. Well GI apparently has to lose around 15kg but lets hope thats not the case. Dont know about Corey Allen tbh so I cant make a comment.
I think norman at the dragons will be fine, he wont be able to mess up with such a group of leaders the dragons have. Agreed, the De Belin saga will cause a bit of internal issues aroung the playing group with all the media. I think it’s best he doesnt play till he is cleared of charged of his case as his mind wont be on the game 100%.
The broncos on their day can beat anyone. problem is I dont see them doing much THIS YEAR due to lack of experience. Give them a few more seasons and I think theyll capture a premiership soon enough.
Im not sure about the Titans. I think there is some sort of hoodoo, as no team in any sporting code thats ever been based in the gold coast, has had success. Id like to see them cause a few surprises thou, as itd be nice to have a fresh face in the finals.

Ive been eager ever since I booked my tickets for the magic round this year. This season just cant come round soon enough.

Fair comments you make, here is my reasoning for each team:
Storm – got a great forward pack and the best coach in the game to go with munster and smith. Plus look out for this Ryan papenhausen kid as he is quality (according to a friend of mine who played with him)
Rabbits have plenty of both quality and experience to compete with anyone. I think they wont really move up or down from last year.
and Id also love to see the knights make the 8,however i do agree with you that their keys pkayers must stay fit the whole season

Yea seems my titans pick is the main talking point of this article. As I said I can see plenty of quality on their list, however it seems anyone that goes from their former team to the titans, seem to lose some quality with it. Bryce Cartwright is a big example of that last year. Thought he was an origin bolter with the panthers and now will be lucky to make the 17 somewhere else. Id like to see them do well, but they need fans to rock up to their games and need to start playing to the quality they posess.

Its a bit of a funny one, but you have to remember how they did in the finals last year. Im sure they wouldve beaten the bunnies had they had Gareth Widdop and not many people go to Brisbane and pile 48 on the Broncos. They have the potential to do it barring injuries to key players in their spine.

THe signing of Jordan Kahu should somewhat make up for the big loss of Barba. And if Michael Morgan is on his game he can produce some magic. You arent wrong however.

The dragons and cowboys have the 2 best forward packs in the comp imo. If the dragons learn from their mistakes during the origin period and rest players as well as win at least 50% of their games at the back end of the season i think theyll be shoeys for top 4 as their team are in the prime ages of 27-30 (a premiership window).
can be wrong with the cowboys however, but I think theyll make the 8th due to the forward pack. I also think manly dont have the quality atm, the sharks will struggle to score points (lets see if johnson is even allowed to stay at the sharks) and the titans need wins against the big digs in the nrl for me to be convinced on them.
Penrith isnt too bad of a call to make the gf, Ivan cleary will bring the best out of them. Hope theres no coach drama for their sakes. lets hope its 2 new teams besides storm and roosters

I think we’ve added a couple of good players plus that fact were moving home will bring massive crowds in. THat should make Parramatta a hard place to win. But we also got to win a few away games this year to get out of the bottom 2 spots.

Thats a fair call, however, they do have plenty of experience in their starting 13 and watching souths they always seem to win out of nowhere. should hover somewhere around the top 4.

Reason I say the knights wont get above 7th is due to the fact that the other teams around them know how to play quality football consistently and know how to finish high in the ladder. That plus the fact their depth isnt as good compared to the top 6 is why I have them there.

I just think the fact Parramatta have a new stadium, which should be a massive boost in morale and bring a big crowd, along with all the drama the bulldogs have had the last year and a bit will be factors into my reasoning for the places.
With the titans they really do annoy me. I think theyve had a roster that should compete for finals for a couple of seasons now but they’re so inconsistent. I just cant trust them anymore.
The comment about the finals is fair and will work on it the next time I write up an article. I took my inspiration from the AFL last year. The richmond tigers were also certainties to take it out easily last year. However they tumbled out in the prelims and I think it could happen here. If the rabbits do end up beating the roosters, then I think they would have ”played their grand final” in it. This is my reasoning for my predictions.

Glad you like the predictions and thanks for the kind words. I think the loss of the 2 centres for the storm are the smallest losses out of the big three teams. Roosters and Rabbits definitely had bigger holes to fill this off season. It really does seem to be a matter of quality vs depth this year. It makes for such an exciting season on paper & hopefully it does turn out to be this way.
