At this stage I would say NO, yes in time brisbane can have a second team but atm another team like Perth is best. What QLD need to focus on is the titans who are struggling atm, they need to secure their future as well as eliminating at least one sydney team. While painful to lose a team in the long run this will only help the NRL.
Brisbane 2.0 must be the next NRL expansion team
That’s true Code 13, I left all that out because the article would have been to long. But smith should worry everyone. He has the money now so he can really take a swing now to develop the game now and expand upon it. Let’s see what he does in 2014 shall we

That’s true Millsy, we gave channel 9 too much power that pretty much dictates what they want and when. Imagine of the EPL did that? I believe Dave will actually do all due diligence next time the TV rights are up and actually consider all options. Instead of just backing the “Bros” that work at channel 9.
As for expansion as long as the NRL continues to make profit and back all NRL teams it should do fine especially in Perth or Adelaide, However there are to many teams in Sydney atm
Why Dave Smith is the right man to lead the NRL
I don’t think he will, he seems to be dedicated and capable. However you do never know
Why Dave Smith is the right man to lead the NRL
All very valid points. The Reds didn’t fail your right the ARU failed them; any new team needs time and it’s a long term investment. Gold Coast was always a dumb move; Perth with time could work extremely well and the NRL doesn’t need a team there now; start at grass roots; get the juniors involved and build hell even a NSW cup team could be a short term investment.
The problem is money the NRL has none; crowds are poor and let’s be honest it’s a dud code. This could be the greatest start it needs; along with key resignations at management level and a kick in the arse
