Winston and Ian
while the headline was changed slightly by the subby’s ,Ian you are right the headline was a bit mis leading i probably rushed the article a bit so will take the criticism on the chin, and Winston in my dealings so far the subby’s have been good to me.

cheers.

Mark Neeld's needs are many at struggling Demons

Actually pleased that the hawks have lost a few games this year ,has given the boys a chance to learn from the losses.History shows cats in 08,saints in 09 and the pies last year dominate during the year and then stumble when it matters. With the losses earlier in the year ,the club appears to be well positioned to handle anything thrown at them, recent swans game an example. While confident, the red hot favourite always has a burden of expectation, for me swans and eagles the 2 genuine contenders.

Can anyone actually beat Hawthorn?

If you look at the other great sides of recent times ,Hawks 80’s,North 90’s,Lions and then Cats theres a form line which rings true.
The Hawks fell a long way and took a decade or more to rebuild(thanks Clarko).North have remained competitive for a decade without really ever seriously challenging, and even now have improved but a long way off top 4.
The Lions have made the finals once in the 8 seasons since there last Grand final, and look like they are on the right path, but still a long way to go.
For me the cats might follow the North path ,remaining competitive, within the 6-12 ladder spots. They need to be guarded that they don’t end up like North and be perennial mid table.

The end of Geelong's era finally arrives

iIts funny how some players are so under rated ,for me guys like Handley at the Lions,Wright at the Crows and Whitecross at the Hawks have had good years but almost un noticed.

Looking for Diamonds In The AFL Rough

The simple matter is coaches have usually 3-5 years to show there wares. We already have 2 glaring examples of clubs making a right and wrong move this year.Sanderson is the right one,he has released the crows and they are playing a much more positive brand of footy. The wrong one is Neeld,he has taken the demons backwards, and Baileys record is starting to look ok.
Ratten’s a nice bloke, but with malthouse available,i feel the fat lady is singing.

But what do you reckon, Ratts?
