Man, really undersold the T20 team. Get Saha in test team. Make space for KL Rahul in the opening slot for T20s. Really no Prithvi Shaw ?? Suresh Raina is any day better bet for No 3 than Sundar. Siraj has a lot of potential but the form that Umesh Yadav has shown over the last year in tests. R Ashwin, Umesh Yadav ….too much talent left on the table
What if India had to field a team in all three formats at the same time?
He was dropped in favor of returning Ajinkya Rahane. Post that his first class form took a drastic hit
The batting breakthroughs that weren't
Just so that his mailing list remembers his highest test score 😛
The batting breakthroughs that weren't
Yeah. It would also be a overstatement calling his double a Batting breakthrough
The batting breakthroughs that weren't
Never heard about that argument, thought he was sacrificed in favour Clarke and Damien Martyn.
The batting breakthroughs that weren't
Nothing else, thought I see another argument about how Pep is buying around his trophies
Why Guardiola can't compare to Klopp
IPL may not at all happen this year. The only window possible is before T20 World Cup, during Asia Cup, but PCB has clearly stated that they won’t postpone Asia Cup so that IPL can take place
Can the Mumbai Indians break their jinx?
Duminy seemed to save his best for the Aussies with his hundred at WACA in 2016 another example. But he had a 46 test career filled with inconsistent performances. The breakthroughs pertaining to this list are those one off performances whose quality were not repeated by the player and soon were dropped

Also he suffered an accidental and broke his ankle while in SA after he hit a triple
The batting breakthroughs that weren't
I feel MI’s greatest strength is keeping their cool in pressure cooker situations. They won the last two finals by margin of one run, defending marginally low totals and that too from situations that looked lost at one point.
Mumbai has kept the same core since 2015 and that has served them with great rewards.
Can the Mumbai Indians break their jinx?
I feel Warner is more suited to one day team, given his troubles in Asia and UK.
What if Australia had to field a team in all three formats at the same time?
Wow, great research work. I guess putting out a team in a T20 is easy for countries since each have their own T20 leagues. But the real challenge is fielding a team simultaneously in an ODI and a Test. Australia has great depth in bowling reserves.
What if Australia had to field a team in all three formats at the same time?
Yes, Jac Rudolph is another cricketer that comes to my mind. But these players had a 30 test match odd careers which has its own up and downs. The innings mentioned are of those nature which one thought to be breakthroughs but could not materialise in a fruitful career, soon ending in a season or two.

Yasir Hameed is another opening batsman that comes to mind, saw a bit of him during India’s tour of Pakistan in 2004. Talented bloke
The Pakistan XI of unfulfilled talent
Klopp started with Mainz and Pep with Barcelona B. After Mainz klopp has managed at Dortmund and Liverpool. These are some of the biggest clubs in Europe and have high spending power. You can’t get more storied than Liverpool or Dortmund. Pep, when he took over had dysfunctional teams both at Barcelona and City. Yes, at Bayern he inherited treble winners but wasn’t the case at his other clubs.
Why Guardiola can't compare to Klopp
Why would any manager would want to manage a small club when all the top clubs in the world want him. A person always look to upgrade his resume. Every manager dreams of managing a top club one day. Pep has been doing it for than a decade.
Why Guardiola can't compare to Klopp
Yes Liverpool have spent really well recently, the sale of Coutinho contributing to the low net spend. Pep came in and spend very smartly on both the fullbacks and goalkeepers, the positions that City needed urgent upgrade. As for the forwards Pep largely worked with players he inherited Augero, Sterling, Silva, de bruyne – all world class in my opinion. Also klopp had a much larger project in comparison to Pep as Liverpool needed upgrade through out the squad, But it is very wrong to discredit Pep’s work at City by pointing just to money.
As Cruyff once said, “I have never seen a bag of money score goals”
Why Guardiola can't compare to Klopp
We seriously need to think about size of bats as well grounds. Nothing irritates me more than when I see a Pollard mishit going over the boundary for six 😢
Batsmen are pretty selfish. There I said it
I actually like the idea of Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader in the same team😁
The Star Wars club cricket XI
Way to go Jar Jar 😂 😂
George Lucas will be a happy man today 😂

Remove Joe Root – no one bats an eye.
Remove Smith- everyone looses their mind. Smith’s batsmanship is beyond doubt but I think it would be better if we define how much weightage we need to give to each format and then away and home record. Looking at raw numbers sometimes paints a biased picture.
It would also be interesting to see what are Rohit Sharma’s numbers in the past year or so. He had a monstrous world cup and a Renaissance in test cricket.
The new fab four of batting... and Steve Smith doesn't make the cut
