I think top 5 is an understatement, there is a strong argument it is number 2, even against cashed up European teams

Important lessons the A-League can learn from the NBL

Why would people boycott us for giving aborigines the same rights as everyone else? Or for taking in thousands of immigrants every year? Isn’t that the right thing to do?

Important lessons the A-League can learn from the NBL

I think saying VAR is stopping people watching is a massive exaggeration

Why would anyone want to be an A-League coach?

They put someone charismatic, driven and has a love for the sport, the NBL has grown exponentially under Larry Kestelman

There is no NBL vs A-League

I would argue they are in competition, I personally have sacrificed time watching basketball for football this summer/season.
Everything in entertainment is in competition, competition for your time mainly, people only have so much of it. Your article makes the presumption there is no crossover between basketball and football fans, that’s just silly.

There is no NBL vs A-League

As Waz said, W league is not FFA’s problem, and A league clubs only have so much money to throw around

FFA, could you please focus on the W-League?

Hey now, Sainsbury takes the spot of worst defender

How do the Socceroos avoid another Jordan upset?

It will be interesting as both teams have been pretty lucky with their wins, I’d say WU has made more of their own luck with our firepower and creativity up front. So I think if WU can tighten things up at the start and maintain that, WSW may regret it if they park the bus, Diamanti will eat that up

Western United versus Western Sydney Wanderers match preview

I haven’t denied my posts are my opinions. I think a lot of people here are confused enough without my help and I haven’t attacked anyone for HAVING an opinion, I do attack their opinions though, unlike yourself and your straw man argument, nice way to not address my points, because you don’t have a solid argument. And most importantly I hate ghayFL, it is the worst sport next to tugby Union.

Matildas' equal-pay reports capture football's optimistic outlook - and the PFA's crucial role

I wouldn’t call what Allen had to say absurd, maybe slightly irrelevant, he was just pointing out an equivalence. Yes the last two days have been good fun, almost thankful for the FFAs decision now, although it has distracted me from my study.

I can agree with that, I mention Australians have a personal responsibility to conserve energy and you start going on about carbon taxing

Matildas' equal-pay reports capture football's optimistic outlook - and the PFA's crucial role

What does that have to do with households not conserving energy?

It was a bad idea, the American people did not have the appetite for war at that time, pearl harbour made them hungry. The US couldn’t just waltz into any war it felt like without the people’s approval, not like today

Matildas' equal-pay reports capture football's optimistic outlook - and the PFA's crucial role

You are forgetting my first point, people are justifying this as it will benefit the women’s game, how does giving the top players who already play all year round as professionals and are the top paid in the W league benefit the women’s game? As oppose to increased funding to the W league, so the have better faculties and more opportunities to be full time professionals, which improves the whole player pool for the national team? You said that women will try harder to make the national team as there is more financial incentive to represent Australia, I said that is offensive to imply women aren’t trying hard enough to be selected. It is also offensive to the nation that there is not enough incentive to give your all for the opportunity to represent your country.

Yes I am blaming the individual, it’s not a coal mining company’s fault people don’t turn the TV off when they leave the house. Industry is guilty of bad things, but individuals can’t blame them for their own responsibilities

Matildas' equal-pay reports capture football's optimistic outlook - and the PFA's crucial role

Emphasis on “IMO”, I still don’t see how any of that directly correlates to giving the matildas a raise? How exactly does that make more people buy jerseys? How exactly does that get more people to watch? Government funding comes from lobbying, which we don’t do enough of, so nothing changes there. Sponsers I can’t blame for jumping on board as women’s sports are currently being pushed hard

Matildas' equal-pay reports capture football's optimistic outlook - and the PFA's crucial role

If it’s hand to mouth existence, why did we give a raise to the top females who play professionally all year round? Rather than trying to improve the quality of their teammates and opponents here, by allowing more of them to be full time professionals

Matildas' equal-pay reports capture football's optimistic outlook - and the PFA's crucial role

My point is, who are we to criticise industry, when we don’t make the effort ourselves?

Matildas' equal-pay reports capture football's optimistic outlook - and the PFA's crucial role

Anyway, allow me to contradict myself. W league is only 12 rounds, and the minimum wage is $10k, for 12 games a year, with a part time job outside the season, that’s a tidy income, and that is the worst players in the league on that income. I really can’t reconcile that as hampering them from training hard and being the best players they can be.

Matildas' equal-pay reports capture football's optimistic outlook - and the PFA's crucial role

Yeah women were trying hard enough to make the national team before, because there wasn’t enough financial incentive. That is straight up offensive

Matildas' equal-pay reports capture football's optimistic outlook - and the PFA's crucial role

Oh you read numbers? I try to count them. I’m just going off the first source I seen.

Matildas set for equal pay under landmark deal

I acknowledge that support, I personally don’t think it is right as it far from equality, but being branded as exactly that. It would be nice to hear an acknowledgement that this is simply a pay raise for the women’s national team paid for by the men, and it in no way benefits women of the W league. The argument that Socceroos make more money in club land and so this isn’t a big sacrifice can be applied to the matildas, these are the top females, so logically they are they best paid females in club land? What does the regular W league player get out of this? We are also saying the W league can’t afford to keep our best players, which inevitably hampers growth of the league, so shouldn’t this money have been directed at the W league if we are trying to raise the tide?

Matildas' equal-pay reports capture football's optimistic outlook - and the PFA's crucial role

Australia is a high polluter less so because of industry, and more so because of individuals and households, we are one of the highest household polluters. We talk a big game but don’t do our part as individuals. I used to clean a school that flaunted itself as green and was nominated for awards as such, yet I would be the one turning off all the teachers fancy electronic white boards after they had left, they leave there iPads and other electronics charging non stop, leave their heaters on non stop in winter, because god forbid they should have to wait for them to warm up in the morning. They preach to the kids and the kids took part in the climate strike, yet they still chuck out unblemished fruit and other food (half the time into recycling), expensive tupperware. It was all frustratingly hypocritical.

Matildas' equal-pay reports capture football's optimistic outlook - and the PFA's crucial role

Just because you don’t comprehend something Chris, doesn’t make the person presenting you with information or logic “off the rails” or “hysterical”. However, it could mean you are just an i d i o t?

Matildas set for equal pay under landmark deal

It’s ironic a man explaining how this makes women feel, then disregarding and discounting the feelings of women when presented with them
