Not sure if this counts, as it was not an Australian sports player, but actions of the umpires who repeatedly no-balled Muttiah Muralitharan in matches in Australia during the 1990s were definitely cringeworthy as his action had been cleared by the ICC more than once.

It won’t be possible to reschedule it that late in the year, some of the grounds are required for the T20 Cricket World Cup
Into the unknown: A 2020 season preview
Contrastingly, if the Stars won the qualifier against the Sixers, the prospect of a grand final at the MCG plus the chance to watch some of the game’s greatest players in a charity match could have produced a record BBL crowd.
It’s a knockout! Thunder with the momentum as Stars get the finals wobbles
This best 22 of the decade is certainly one of the best, if not the best out of all the teams
The decade that was: Geelong Cats
My team for the First Test vs Pakistan
1. Joe Burns/Usman Khawaja (Either one will be better than Harris and Bancroft)
2. David Warner (can’t drop him for a home test series)
3. Marnus Labuschagne
4. Steve Smith
5. Travis Head (should be recalled, don’t need a batting all-rounder)
6. Matthew Wade
7. Tim Paine (c) (wk)
8. Pat Cummins
9. Mitchell Starc (maybe James Pattinson, if Starc doesn’t regain his form)
10. Nathan Lyon
11. Josh Hazlewood
Got the Ashes, now get the number one ranking
I agree, Starc’s form has certainly gone down a lot over the last year or so. He did have a great World Cup, but white-ball form isn’t very relevant here. I hope he can regain his form in the last few Shield matches before the Test series vs Pakistan.
Mitch Marsh mourns moment of madness
Yes, along with the opener’s position, Starc’s place in the team seems the most uncertain at the moment.

Should Khawaja and Renshaw open against Pakistan?

David Warner and Joe Burns should be the openers for the First Test
Which means he’s batting too high for his role in the team.
Marsh injury could bring Stoinis into Test frame
Swap Wade and Patterson, Joe Burns as the reserve batsman
Who should the Test selectors look at for the summer?
Yeah I probably exaggerated a little bit being a Cats supporter, but I still thought that one of the experts would tip Geelong

What an absolute disgrace, no one has tipped Geelong to beat the Pies

Agree, Geelong should definitely be higher than the Pies

Also don’t forget Travis Varcoe, who scored for Geelong in literally the first 15 seconds of the 2011 GF, and has since moved to Collingwood
Geelong are setting the pace; the AFL season is in their control
Only issue I see with this team is that Andre Russell is batting too low at no. 8, at the very least he should swap with Afridi in the batting order
