Had thunderstorms and rain overnight in Perth. May be more today. Could lead to an ugly game between the Force and Reds. Hopefully stays away.

Looking forward to getting to the first home game of the season. Reds will tough to beat but here’s hoping we can eliminate the errors and ill discipline that seems to plague the Force week after week.

The Red scrum is very good and this will be an area the Force will have to be at there best. Need to bring last weeks first half intensity and try and pressure Frisby and Cooper into mistakes. Kerevi the danger back obviously.

Super Rugby Round 2 tips and predictions: Making it sporting

The Hockeyroos and Kookaburra players aren’t available for much of the season anyway.

I understand your approach, to keep the standard in the top league, but can’t see it happening. Especially the big strong clubs like UWA, Melville, Wolves etc won’t entertain this. Most clubs will want to keep there identity. It is tough at the moment for the clubs getting promoted, they seem to come straight back down. Hopefully not this year.

I can’t see the regional teams working unfortunatly, the travel burden for GER. SWS, UGS and LGS is large, even thought there is a lot of hockey talent in these areas. South West Stikers stuggle to attract the best talent from Busselton/Bunbury etc because the travel is too much.

It is a bold strategy though and the two Premier leagues would produce some good hockey.

Hockey in Western Australia must restructure

Mania, in one of Nick Bishops articles he made a comment about how a lot of front rowers say TPN is the toughest scrummaging hooker they have played against.

Polota-Nau regrets "disservice" to Wallabies but ready to face Tahs

Seems to be so many fighters pulling out before fights now, Not sure if they are training too hard or what.

Bisbing was destroyed by Silva he just was lucky Silva danced around and did nothing for two rounds. Saying that I think he is a dangerous match up for Rockhold. I think Bisbing quick movement and fitness may trouble Rockhold the longer the fight goes despite the short notice I think BIsbing fitness is always good. He doesn’t have the power to try and knock him out. Bisbing punches rarely put people down.

Before Bisbing got this fight I thought he may fight Whitaker. I wonder who Whitaker next opponent will be now.

Michael Bisping faces his greatest challenge

“It would be interesting to see Haylett-Petty surrounded by better players and more coherent attacking and defending systems than the chaos he has to play in with the Western Force.”

Sitting in the stadium watching the Force on Friday night I found myself thinking the same thing. I reckon DHP would be a gun in a better side with a cohesive backline.

On your referee point Spiro, it surprised me that a south African referee was brought in to do the Force vs. Bulls games in Perth.

Us Force fans can only dream of having a team that plays like the Cheifs did tonight. Cheifs were awesome.

Both you and Jez are correct. Kieran Longbottom is a tight head prop. Accidentally put loose head and missed it when I re-read before posting. Cheers

I’m actually really disappointed with Tim Cahills referee rant. We didn’t get a few 50-50 calls but generally the ref was good. The penalty claim Cahill was also holding the defender shirts. I’m a one eyed Socceroo fan but the ref had nothing to do with why we lost.

While we are in a tough group, any team in the last 32 would provide tough opposition for the Socceroos.

Are the Socceroos the unluckiest team in the world?

Brilliant performance by the Kookaburras is very accurate. There playing such good hockey. 5-1 dominating win in the final going back to back world cup winners.

Ric Charlesworth is the master, when he had the Hockeyroos they were brilliant and he has done the same with the men.

Its ashame this will probably barely get a mention in the media.

Great win by the Force, Arrived home soaking wet from the game but don’t care after that win!

Warner is the biggest worry imo. He lack of footwork will be exposed by the swinging ball. While not the best benchmark he looked all at see in the one day series there last year.

Gillespie predicts tough Ashes for Australia

Anyone think its strange to bring in an opening batsman to replace someone who would have batted at 3?

I don’t doubt Quineys talent but is it tough to make an opener debut in a unusual position? Or if he has the goods, should he be able to bat anywhere in the top 4?

Maybe put Punter back at 3, Clarke 4, Quiney 5, Mr Cricket 6

Maybe Uzzie is the new Hodge
