Sorry mate I replied to the wrong person.

Should Tariq Sims have been penalised for this knee?

Happy for this to happen, but if Melbourne is cleared for game 2 then is should shift from Suncorp.

Letting QLD host game 1 and 2 is a bit much.

Townsville next in line to host Origin opener

If he wasn’t looking at his head while he did it you may have a case.

Should Tariq Sims have been penalised for this knee?

Yes, absolutely. This was so deliberate it wasn’t funny.

If you let this go expect to see a lot more people being “accidentally” kneed in the head while attempting to make a tackle.
I find it incredible nothing happened about this on the night.

Should Tariq Sims have been penalised for this knee?

Outstanding post and well said.

Would be nice to not finish with a spoon this year though. 😁

Eight talking points from NRL Round 9

Well done Gal.

You will cop a lot of shade from those who will always put you down because they don’t like you. Or more specifically don’t like who they think you are, much like Mr Browne himself.

This was a big win, and a definitive win. Congratulations.

Paul Gallen drops Lucas Browne twice on way to shock first round TKO

If that’s the most controversial decision of the year then we are in for a stellar year in the bunker.

Correct decision, obviously correct decision. Where is the controversy??

What's your take on the most controversial decision of the year?

Ok, this is a bit of a mess but let’s recap.

John Morris wasn’t in line for a head coaching job at Cronulla, he was thrown into the deep end when Flanno departed for an unsavoury email addiction.
John Morris was probably not in Cronulla’s plan for long term coaching, but they wanted some stability with a young squad he had experience with while we sorted out those pesky fines for cheating the salary cap.
Now we have come out the other side of those problems, and John Morris has done what he was brought in for, the board went looking for a long term coaching option. He would have been in the running but was overlooked for someone else.

Does that sound about right?? It does to me. He’s done a fantastic job with the limited cattle through injury, brought some future stars into grade and has the team firing. It would have been good for John to see out the season but he obviously decided that was not what he wanted. How and why that happened is between him and the board.

Will Fitzy be a better choice?? Who knows. Fitzy is currently emulating Schrodingers cat, we will open the box in a couple of years and find out just how alive he is.

Thankyou John, you’ve been a good servant to our club and I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

John Morris quits Sharks as Cronulla confirm new NRL coach

What a load of rambling nonsense. You are drawing a very long bow trying to surmise that Scomo attending the footy is more important than him attending some protest marches. Why does everything have to circle back to whatever is someones most important issue of the minute? Can he not just enjoy some free time like everyone else?

His appearance in the Parra sheds was a real non issue. He may have been invited, did you ever consider that?

As to the rest of your write up, for some reason the common way of thinking is that having more females everywhere will suddenly fix all our woes. It’s almost like they are super beings. More female politicians will make parliament better, more females on boards will make companies much better, more females driving trucks will make trucking better, more female referees will suddenly make everyone respect women more. That’s a lot of pressure to put on one half of the population, and really insulting to the other half as the implication is that having men in these positions weakens them and encourages disrespect of women, by their sheer presence not by their actions mind you.

Teaching respect of everyone is fundamental. If ladies wish to referee footy then I am pretty sure they can, there is nothing written down that I can see which stipulates it is for men only. Do they really need money spent on pathways for something they can do now if they wish?

Oustanding effort for your ton mate. Salute the crowd and enjoy but please for the love of God don’t kiss your helmet.

For me 100 – Steven Bradbury, why you should never just quit.

Celebrating a century: My sporting love affair

Question

If the Storm have always played this way how can they be up to their old dirty tricks again?
Shouldn’t it be “The Storm still using old dirty tricks to bamboozle weak willed referees?”
Or “Of course he’s injured, these aren’t the droids you’re looking for. You can go about your business. Move along.”

Are the Storm up to their old dirty tricks again?

Mate Fifita played the ball properly once and was penalised for it because the action looked strange to the ref.
So he went back to playing the ball how he always has and never had a problem since.

True story.

Are the Storm up to their old dirty tricks again?

Woody I love the Sharks mate but we were pretty shot after Brailey went off injured.

The intensity was there, and we pushed them hard but the Raiders were the far better side on the night. There was no ref leg up that I saw, just one team playing better than the other when it mattered.

Can the underdogs prevail in the NRL semi-finals?

I keep trying mate but nobody listens to me.

Super League revisited: More 'what ifs'

Hahaha don’t mention the war, I did it once but think I got away with it.

Refs did a good job, that’s all I was trying to say. Maybe it came out wrong?? A lot of people try and pin losses on different decisions, I’m not one of those people.

Interesting point about Wade, he has certainly been a bit off his game this season. We need a calm head as captain out there and he can also run a bit hot. Who else though? Chad or Johnson are the obvious duo but will it affect their game also? Maybe SJ has been on because he no longer has the captaincy as well. So glad I am not having to make these decisions.

2-3 more seasons with this squad, a bit more experience and a bit more defensive work and this team will be formidable (if they can all stay together of course). The future is bright in the Shire and hopefully it won’t be another 50 years before we lift the trophy again. I just don’t think I would still be around to see it 😛

Raiders overcome slow start to cruise past Sharks

We was robbed 😂

Great game last night but we were really behind the 8 ball after losing Johnson and as soon as Brailey went down just before half time the momentum stopped. The boys tried hard and kept up fight but ultimately too many mistakes against a quality team cost us in the end.

Without that intercept try just before half time it could have been very interesting, but the Raiders stepped up in that second half to run away with it. I’m not going to talk about refs, it doesn’t achieve anything and they are, as always, doing their job as best they can. Live and die by the ref’s decision and play to the whistle lads and everyone can just get on with things.

Congratulations to the Raiders faithful and good luck for next week. You will need your A game against the Roosters and it should be a cracking game.

Well done to the baby Sharks. A lot has been said about the Broncos not having personnel this season but we have been in a very similar boat except our team plays for each other and it shows in the results. We made the finals and made a game of it with a team made up mostly of rookies. For our old guard big Andrew has been immense for the club but I think he really needs to assess where he goes from here. He’s a shadow of his former self and I think injuries will take him down.

See you all next season to do it again. May the best aquatic themed team win.

I stand corrected.

That 2016 team was a gem, a real gem.

Only a fit and fired up Fifita could score that try. The team was hard, experienced, enough flair when needed but just tough. That team is where this whole “grinding” tag came from. It doesn’t suit the Sharks now, but it sure suited them then.

Pass on my respects to your parents. 99 each and in the same house is the kind of achievement we should all hope to make one day.

Beware of the Raiders, who look to make noise outside the top four

Ah Matt Prior, great player.

See the problem is that when you break the rules as often as we do you end up with all kinds of annoying things like salary cap penalties that means letting quality players go to the English SL is more of a necessity than a genuine desire.

Should be a good game this weekend. Good luck for your boys, are you able to get to the ground?

Beware of the Raiders, who look to make noise outside the top four

You’ve gotta beat us first mate 😁

Beware of the Raiders, who look to make noise outside the top four

Eh Gads.

I kept waiting for him to pause and mug for the camera bigfoot style and then it happened. What’s more because it’s on TV it must be true.

I may have to rethink my tips………..

The Roar’s NRL expert tips and predictions: Finals Week 1

It was untainted Walter, it was investigated and cleared.

The SC was self reported by the Sharks, investigated and cleared by the NRL. If it was not cleared I would not be celebrating that GF victory as a win, and certainly not parading the team around years later in order to celebrate our cheating victory.

The coach was fired for breaching protocol, if the NRL decided that the GF win should also be stripped for the same reason read reply above.

Neither was done, so neither is tainted unless you are clinging to something. It’s like saying the Storm GF win in 2012 is tainted because they had just come out of one of the biggest cases of fraud in NRL history (for which they were caught, not self-reported) yet the club was not dissolved, the coach was not de-registered, the players who knowingly signed two contracts were not de-registered and the team kept a good portion of their players. None of those points either matter or are relevant because the NRL did not decide to do those things. They investigated, took matters to court where needed, handed out massive penalties and then allowed the team to remain and continue, therefore everything they have done since 2010 is above board.

Let it go mate, just let it go.
