Round 8 was an intriguing weekend of football. There were plenty of interesting issues that came to the fore.
The main point of conversation around the A-League is how well Jamie Maclaren is playing.
Geelong and Hawthorn have developed a great rivalry over the years, so I’ve theorised the best Hawks-Cats combined team from the players of the last 12 months.
There were plenty of interesting discussion points that came from Round 6, but it’s difficult to talk about anything other than the seven-goal thriller between Brisbane Roar and Melbourne City.
I’ve selected the players best suited to their given roles if Richmond and Essendon formed a combined team for 2020.
A Melbourne merger of the Kangaroos and Demons is an interesting prospect. This would be the best combined list of this speculative scenario in 2020.
I have formulated the best 22 players from Collingwood and Carlton based on combining the teams.
The Premier League is alive and well – there were almost two big upsets with Aston Villa leading Liverpool 1-0 at half time at home and Southampton leading Manchester City by the same score also away from home.
There were a lot of issues that came to the fore following the completion of Round 4 of the A-League, with VAR unfortunately grabbing a lot of the headlines for all of the wrong reasons in the game between Melbourne City and Wellington Phoenix.
Any team that has scored nine goals in a match day has to dominate the headlines as it rarely occurs – therefore, Leicester City have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with under manager Brendan Rodgers. At the other end of the spectrum Southampton would be bitterly disappointed with the manner in […]
There was a red card, 11 goals and plenty of points to discuss following Round 3 of the A-League, with Wellington Phoenix the only team without a point despite not playing bad football this weekend.
The Premier League is possibly the most entertaining competition to watch in world football. As things stand at the moment, it’s possible for a bottom ten team to beat one of the top teams. Sheffield United defeated Arsenal – you wouldn’t know that they were newly promoted to the Premier League at the start of […]
There were plenty of talking points in Round 2 of the A-League; remarkably, seven out of 11 teams were unbeaten after Round 2, with only Adelaide United and Wellington Phoenix losing their first two games.
In a nutshell, Round 1 was full of intriguing games for the neutral as none of the games were one-sided.
The story of matchday 8 is the fact that there are a few coaches under pressure.
Match Day 7’s highlight was an outstanding display by the newly promoted Sheffield United team.
The story of the match day was Manchester City’s 8-0 victory over Watford.
Newly promoted Norwich City caused a massive upset by defeating title aspirants Manchester City in a high-scoring thriller.
There were goals galore on the Premier League’s fourth match day, while Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester are the only three unbeaten sides left standing.Â
They aren’t tanking, just lacking effort and confidence.
What happened? AFL Round 21, 2019
We will find out this weekend when the Eagles play Richmond.
What happened? AFL Round 21, 2019
Your right, the Bulldogs were outstanding in the first half.
The Pies could find it tough to win against the Suns. Who’s going to curtail the influence of Day?
Witts will want to show how good he really in his dual with Grundy. Who will win that battle?
Most of all who will play De Goey’s role?
What happened? AFL Round 19, 2019
A lot of the players selected were consistent every week.
My All Australian side after Round 17
Thanks, but it wasn’t my intention to stir the pot, just stay true to myself.
My All Australian side after Round 17
Even more challenging; that is a fantastic idea, will need a long time to formulate that team!
My All Australian side after Round 17
That’s something I will look into; outstanding challenge, will definitely be a difficult, but interesting and fun one though; need a few weeks to work that team out!
My All Australian side after Round 17
Don’t think the Cats will win the premiership the way they are playing at the moment.
My All Australian side after Round 17
Naughton has helped the Bulldogs possibly make the finals. I have to respectfully disagree about Cameron. Tom Lynch (Richmond) has been great lately, but deserved to be dropped earlier in the season.
My All Australian side after Round 17
I find your comment extremely refreshing! that’s exactly what I was trying to do; give my personal opinion and not be influenced by any outside forces!
My All Australian side after Round 17
Neither, he won’t be in the AA team for sure, but I believe he deserves the honour of being selected in the team.
My All Australian side after Round 17
Good team, thanks for providing feedback. 12 out of 22 from my team!
My All Australian side after Round 17
But I don’t believe Cameron or anyone else warrants a spot and Bont is normally selected at full forward and people often get selected out of position in AA.
My All Australian side after Round 17
Thanks for that, don’t believe that any key forward warrants selection.
My All Australian side after Round 17
Cameron has been goalless 2 weeks in a row.
Not left field, merely my opinion.
My All Australian side after Round 17
Grundy plays in a quality team, Kelly has been good, but not quite good enough, Cripps hasn’t played well every week and Sicily was strongly considered.
My All Australian side after Round 17
The Eagles showed plenty of class when they were challenged, but the Crows put up a good fight!
