Thanks for your input.
Hore and O’Shea both deserved to be in the team. O’Shea had four shots and that penalty was pressure as Weier was wasting time to add the pressure on; a bit of gamesmanship. He also took a good corner and provided leadership, which can’t be measured.
Elsey had to withstand a barrage of Melbourne Victory attacks. He had four headed clearances and three interceptions.
Regarding Clisby, I chose him as his position he was listed as midfield on the team sheet. I have double checked and triple checked.
McGing provided the assist, but you’re right, Toure set it up. I’m interested in who you would take out the team for Toure.
Who made the cut? A-League team of the week: Round 23
It was probably the best game Rodwell has played for Sydney FC, but the goal that was scored by Craig Goodwin probably should’ve been an own goal. He still came under strong consideration, but he didn’t make the cut due to that error.
Who made the cut? A-League team of the week: Round 23
Thanks Grem. I was thinking the same thing about Burgess, with regards to a Socceroos call up.
Who made the cut? A-League team of the week: Round 22
That would be a massive blow for the Demons.
One player from every AFL team that must stand out from the pack: Round 1
Hopefully Horne-Francis will take some pressure off the likes of Boak, Wines, Rozee and Butters.
One player from every AFL team that must stand out from the pack: Round 1
AFL is all about opinions; if we all agreed it would be boring.

Will be interesting to see if the Bulldogs go with the four tall forwards.

I’m a big fan of Ugarkovic as I think he is underrated and would be a good addition to the Melbourne City midfield.
Who made the cut? A-League team of the week: Round 20
Thanks, appreciate your comment. I would start O’Neill in at least one of the two upcoming Socceroos friendlies, especially now that he has added goals to his game.
Who made the cut? A-League team of the week: Round 20
You are correct; it was a bad week for right backs and centre backs, as I wanted to go with the formation 3-4-3 and include Cummings, but I couldn’t find a third centre back!
I agree that Pain, Lofthouse, McGarry were all good and also Garuccio was outstanding in the first half.
Thanks for your insightful input.

Thanks for your input; football is all about opinions.
Who made the cut? A-League team of the week: Round 19
I’d change the shape of the midfield, as I wouldn’t take any of Isaias, Doumbia or D’Arrigo out of the team. I would take Tilio and Goodwin out of the team and play with three central midfielders, as I would bring in Caceres and Jelacic of Perth Glory who was good in a losing team.
Who made the cut? A-League team of the week: Round 19
Brainstrust, Botic scored the first goal due to a goalkeeping error and the second goal was poor defending from Newcastle Jets. I’m interested in who you would take out the team in order to pick him.
Who made the cut? A-League team of the week: Round 18
Thanks for that Grem. It’s a great idea to do an A-League All Stars from my selections at the end of the season. Irankunda would definitely be a super sub at this stage, hopefully he can keep it up.

Great article, Michael.
Never been happier with a Manchester United coach, as a fan. The future looks bright.
How Erik Ten Hag is shifting the narrative at Manchester United
Appreciate your input, TheSecretScout. I respectfully disagree.
Gauci would have conceded four goals if not for Popovic clearing the ball off the line. Despite that, he did keep the scoreboard respectable from an Adelaide United perspective. His penalty save was brilliant and so was his double save, however both him and Young made four saves and Young kept a clean sheet.
As a matter of fact, I’m a big fan of Gauci, so it was purely a subjective decision and had nothing to do with him being in a losing team.
Who made the cut? A-League team of the week: Round 8
Thanks for your constructive comment.
Kaltack defended extremely well and I felt that the assist was good, even though the header from Hall was excellent and Kaltack was better defensively.
Aspro didn’t put a foot wrong.
The reason I chose Yan Sasse over Garang Kuol in right midfield was because I felt that he was better than him and had more impact on the game. Despite that, it was great to see Kuol starting, getting an assist and working hard defensively.
I didn’t select Mileusnic, as he didn’t quite make the cut, even though he scored a goal to remember.
Who made the cut? A-League team of the week: Round 8
Don’t risk Ryan as he hasn’t been playing and has been injured.
Formation: 4-3-3
Redmayne, Atkinson, Rowles, Degenek, Behich, Mooy, Irvine, McGree, Leckie (Captain), Maclaren, Goodwin
Substitutes: Tilio, Hrustic, Kuol, Cummings, Deng
How should Australia set up against France?
Lopez has been extremely consistent and has played every game, despite Van der Saag being able to play right back, but here are the reasons why I didn’t opt to choose him in the opening 6 Rounds:
In Round 2 the formation of the team was 3-5-2, which meant I was obliged to choose three centre backs.
In Round 4 the formation of the team was 3-4-3, which meant once again I was obliged to choose three centre backs.
I thought Cleur was outstanding in Round 6.
In Round 5 Lopez only played 45 minutes.
In Round 3 Risdon played well.
I decided to go with Hingert in Round 1.
Who made the cut? A-League team of the week: Round 6
Four players that have been chosen three times: Marcelo, Leckie, Kuol, Goodwin
Five players that have been chosen twice: Nieuwenhof, Tilio, Weier, Neville, Lolley
The remaining 44 selections were made up of players who were chosen once.

Thanks, that’s a great idea Grem! I will do that in the article for the Round 6 team of the week.
