Yeah, maybe its a central location of being in between Gawler and the Barossa for accomodation purposes, think most people would want to stay in Tanunda or Nuriootpa but Gawler is reasonably big

If the AFL 'really care' about bringing footy fans together, they'll keep Gather Round in SA

When Carlton beat Port last year to stop Ports 13 game winning streak it also ended Ports winning streak at Marvel stadium which was 9 or 10 games in a row

Six Points: Clutch kings do it again, footy's dirtiest player, and debunking 'Vic-centric' fixture myth

Found it interesting that Lyndoch is the venue for the game in the Barossa.I played in the Barossa Valley league for 8 years, its not an oval used in the league,Barossa Districts uses an oval down the road. They said they are spending a fortune developing this oval at Lyndoch but I wonder what the ground will be used for after gather round ,Barossa Districts might get lucky and move to this facility and use it for home games but thats alot of money for a club in country footy

Yeah agree but still think the Crows would go for him also, even if it meant trading say Himmelburg and have Tillthorpe Fogarty and Lukosius as the key forwards Tex is getting near the end

I heard Lukosius would prefer to go to the crows if he did come home

True,an we have some young tall forwards,Marshall is only 25 Ollie Lord 20 Georgiades 21 big Tom Scully 19… will be interesting to see what type of player they select with their 1st pick this year

Jack Luckosius might come home, see gold coast have a few key forwards now with King and 2 guys have debuted this year forget their names ,Jack might be expendable

Think Port will go back to the draft after we used 2 1 st rounders on jhf,get another 1st rounder in there while Butters Rozee and JHF are still young

If you have to win the final at the MCG give us more games at the MCG.Travis Boak played his 29th game at the MCG a couple of weeks ago

We can do more business next year,we will give you Jordan Sweet our 1st rounder and 2nd rounder for Shai

What did Port give up to get big Ivan

Six Points: Clutch kings do it again, footy's dirtiest player, and debunking 'Vic-centric' fixture myth

Big Ivan is doing well so far, competing well and can drift forward and take a grab, has a few goals already, yeah, cant see Bolton leaving

Point 7-Big Ivan Soldo should pick up the phone and get his good mate Shai Bolton to come and join him at Port .

I didn’t know much about Soldo when he was at Richmond but your right he deserves some credit I didn’t notice Goldstein and Draper alot during the game, like no real advantage in there that was concerning me during the game and he has kicked a few goals already so think he will be a handy pick up for us.

Footy Fix: Does the Essendon Edge not apply to Connor Rozee or something?

The sock thing is Jase Burgoyne’s father Peter played footy with his socks pulled up and JHF step father Fabian Francis did the same, its the reason they do it

Footy Fix: Does the Essendon Edge not apply to Connor Rozee or something?

Burgoyne pulled up his socks when he came on also

Footy Fix: Does the Essendon Edge not apply to Connor Rozee or something?

The 5th midfielder Ollie Wines doesn’t mind throwing his weight around in there either

Can you have a breakout game if you polled 16 brownlow votes last year !!! JHF played like this last year but he would have a great 2nd half or start well go missing, then explode in the last quarter. This was the most consistent game I think he has played that I have seen.Regardless of winning premierships or making finals watching Port for the next 10 years is going to be fun with Rozee Butters and JHF taking the game on like they do,good mix of speed flair and toughness

Probably are atm, think alot of people had Crows playing finals this year.

'Disproportionate reaction': Forget the doomsayers - Sydney's shock loss to Richmond means absolutely nothing

Yes,way to early for the Doomsayers to come out, also maybe Richmond might be a bit better than alot predicted,Carlton and Port had to work hard for the win against the Tigers then they knock off a Sydney side that had good form, its great for the competition anyway more ”upsets” the better I say

'Disproportionate reaction': Forget the doomsayers - Sydney's shock loss to Richmond means absolutely nothing

If Port move to the VFL they will operate the same as all other AFL reserves side in the VFL,probably one of the reasons why they want out of the SANFL

They will just replace the don’t want to’s with the want to’s

Been told its more about developing the talls in the SANFL.Say an 18 year old ruckman Port drafted will come up against a 28 year old ruckman from sturt who is 6 foot 8 and weighs 110kg .Its a tough gig for the raw young ruckman Port are trying to develop, moving into the VFL Ports young ruckman will in most cases be going up against say Richmonds ruckman they are trying to develop in the vfl to replace Nankervis if that makes sense, and applies to young raw fullbacks and full forwards,so its not so much about standard of the SANFL

Wines out but Jason Horne Francis returns after a 2 week absence Sarah,so Port’s midfield should cope ok,young Jackson Meade will continue to get more midfield minutes in wines absence so if any positive can come from an injury its getting more minutes into the inexperienced types

What to look forward to in the return of Gather Round: Can this year’s Festival of Footy be as successful?
