Outside back in the day, not that long ago really....

Absolutely KP, I’d have him in a heartbeat

CONFIRMED: Wallabies land final piece of coaching puzzle as ex-Lion signs on ahead of showpiece event

I’m a Force fan and like Rodda, but he’s been touted as the saviour of Australian rugby for 2 or 3 years without really playing a game

Wallabies star set to make timely return against Crusaders in must-win clash for Force

He’s a pretty good reference I reckon

CONFIRMED: Wallabies land final piece of coaching puzzle as ex-Lion signs on ahead of showpiece event

But they’re playing a very un Australian form of rugby based on Australian rugby over the last number of years. They do this very strange thing where they are passing in front of the support player who are running from depth onto the ball

'Kid wonder': Lancaster, Gordon shine as Rebels take one giant step in locking in maiden Super Rugby finals berth

Not a disgrace as you say AA, but he didn’t have his best night in my opinion. But dertainly don’t think he favoured any side over the other. E.g. Lancaster’s hat trick was not a pick up off his shoelaces, it was a pickup off the ground. Knock on had they watched a slow down reply. It is what it is for both teams. I am glad that the Rebels are doing well, think they’re important for Aus rugby and that’s my interest. That being said, I wouldn’t drink the coolaid just yet Burn City-siders (love that term having just learnt the origins of it, I feel I get to use it as I lived in Melbourne for a decade and experienced the vibrant nature of Melbourne), the Highlanders were decidedly average tonight

They just gotta do it!

COMMENT: Australian rugby is a depressing picture - the RA board must be axed and the constitution changed

Before domestic growth we need to arrest the domestic decline

Need national pathways, not just 2 boutique club competitions in Sydney and Brisbane

COMMENT: Australian rugby is a depressing picture - the RA board must be axed and the constitution changed

Being a little facetious, we can agree on decades of it not being run properly

'I was bloody nervous': Hooper stars on Aussie sevens debut, women on track in HK despite red card

Yeah. That’s been the focus for decades and see where they are, wasting water on weeds when we have a flower blooming over there

'I was bloody nervous': Hooper stars on Aussie sevens debut, women on track in HK despite red card

I don’t think rugby will exist without government funding. Fortunately the government may not recognise the incompetence at RA as their own incompetence is pretty well paralleled

What's the point of Sevens? It should be used to develop Test players, and would be better at it than Super Rugby

Agree PK, that’s where Aus rugby’s focus should be

'I was bloody nervous': Hooper stars on Aussie sevens debut, women on track in HK despite red card

Think they’ll be lucky to pay down their debt facility from those two events PK. And without success in either it’ll sure be a last hurrah for rugby in Australia. There’s a lot of smoke and mirrors but the CEO of the un-budgeted RWC blow out fiasco (as opposed to the budgeted blow out fiasco which was never disclosed) is still the CEO of RA

What the Rebels players should be demanding to know, as Twiggy's ex-rival throws a familiar hail Mary

Hey mate. I really think we need an honest review of this by RA so that we can have a few key findings released in 12-15 months about the use of the term ‘Bleak City’ in regard to Melbourne. Am hoping we can involve a KC or two

Time for a review into this review

How Schmidt landed All Blacks icon at Wallabies - and why '80 per cent of coaching is selection'

A really mature approach by Nick Stiles at a terribly poor time for the rebels. This approach means players like Tupou should be at their best for the wallabies as apposed to the Tahs reliance on Bell

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

I also liked the look of Corey Toole in attack and defence. Think he played an important part in both of Wright’s tries in that the last defender can’t give Toole the side line – too much gas. His pace was also noticeable in defence where the Red’s outside backs generally looked well covered. Toole is quick enough to pretty much give anyone the side line and turn and run them down if necessary.

The Wrap: Good news and bad news for Rugby Australia as Brumbies and Rebels win local derbies

Sure, the penalty was stupid and overplayed, so maybe Swain is getting pinged on reputation. Not sure he is doing much to change his reputation

'It was brutal': Clutch Lolesio kicks Brumbies to 'Test match intensity' win over Reds as Wright shines again

That needless push penalty by Swain on Tate just showed me he hasn’t learnt his lessons. Stupid

Let’s circle back and get underneath the detail though

'They've got to have some trust': DC's vision for star trio as Jorgo says gold jersey '100%' fuelled decision to stay

Forget about the actual players, what kind of business model are RA working to that allows an uncapped 19 yr old to be paid more than capped wallabies? They are creating (have created) an unsustainable economy where they cannot compete with other codes or overseas.

Wonder kid offered 3-yr, $1.6m deal to stay in Aussie rugby - and why it could see Wallabies stars leave Ballymore

And let’s not forget how much stronger Australian rugby will be with only 4 super sides. And by that rationale, I can’t wait to see how strong we are when we have 0 super rugby sides

Quick thoughts on the Bobby’s try around 20 minutes. Rolling maul. It was a brilliant but rare kind of maul. The one we worked on in first grade years ago. Transferring the ball whilst mauling. The guys at the front build the momentum and peel out with an opponent, then rejoin at the back. The ball may be then transferred you you and those at the front do the same again. Repeat as necessary, if you’re moving forward when you peel out and rejoin the maul you’re adding momentum. If you’re going back, you’re trying to halt momentum on the back foot with a tonne of humans rolling your way. I feel this is an almost lost art form which is a beautiful part of rugby. Much more interesting than the solid set, drive and the hooker always scores as he’s at the back. Or 7 as the Pocock method used to do at the brumbies
