No I got the point of your contribution and if you actually bothered to read the article you will see it doesn’t merge you with Carlton but send you all back still as your clubs to the VFL. See the world has changed 18 team AFL competition will not be viable you may think it is but it wont be, and while we are at it you forget that without West Coast, Fremantle, Adelaide, Port Adelaide, Sydney, GWS, Brisbane and Gold Coast your Essendon would have folded as a club a long time ago because without those clubs your club wouldn’t have been propped up for so long.

The reality is the AFL and the NRL will have to reduce there competitions back the world has changed, now I realise that some of my thoughts may seem to lack logic or be way off base, but we need to be debating the future structure of these competitions and being honest about the fact that 9 teams in Melbourne and Victoria does not work anymore and that the number of Sydney and NSW based teams in the NRL doesn’t work anymore.
Died hard fans if you cant accept that you club has to go or you have the attitude of clubs need to go but not my club well tough luck because you don’t live in the real world. Here is what will happen post this crisis people are going to have less money, so club membership bases will be less, people are going to have less money so crowds will be less, broadcasters such as Seven, Nine and Foxtel will have less money to pay for broadcast rights, so what does this all mean there is going to be less money in the game to sustain clubs and there is going to be less money in the game to pay players massive payments. So what does that mean its simple clubs must go either through mergers or returning to lower leagues or folding all together.
Isn’t it better to have your club you say you luv so much stay around in some form either through merger or move back to a lower league than having no club at all because it folded due to lack of money coming in. WAKE UP THE WORLD HAS CHANGED, THE ERA OF BEING SELFISH IS OVER.

typical Victorian one eyed and don’t get it think the world owes you everything thing you own Aussie Rules Football. The AFL in the current forms is nothing more than extended VFL.
