Again All Day I missed this earlier post … as I have with others… on teams with same birth month.
But I wanted to say I always enjoy reading them very much
Not convinced re Knott as good as he was because of Flower in the side and would I opt for another bowler.
Mankad would do
If you read this could you kindly give me a heads up on the last team’s posting
Cheers

Team of the Month: an April-born World Cricket XI

Absolutely Roger. It struck me when he said he wished he had made a recovery sooner
All that trouble and body damage.
So pleased to see a talented person land on his feet and have a life ahead

AFL News: Scott hits out at 'offensive' Tribunal call to clear Cameron, Pies to swoop on star Dog?

Protocol says Taylor must miss. Young could handle Ricardie and Wietering on Hogan….hopefully
And don’t need two bigs against a running team like GWS…. TDK to do the job

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions, Round 6: Can the Bulldogs bounce back after a week of scrutiny?

Sam Taylor is a big loss for GWS Macca and a match up on Curnow will not be easy to manufacture.
Just clean delivery to him will be a start
Replacements for injured Blues will also be interesting

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions, Round 6: Can the Bulldogs bounce back after a week of scrutiny?

I’m with you BG. The fact that Cameron tackled and ensured the tackle would take Lever to the ground in an emphatic manner immediately puts the tackled player at risk of falling on his unprotected head.
So much talk around concussion and yet every week a player is reported for hurting a player by a sling tackle or jumping into their body.
I don’t understand how the message is not getting through particularly after the Webster attack on Simpkin.

Social media trolling of our sportspeople has its newest victim - but Sonja Hood won't be the last unless we take a stand

I think you’re right PJ.. North have some likely kids but they probably need more growth and strength to compete with onbapllers like Danger and a Dunkley etc
Another couple of big bodies to look after them
But then all teams want that something extra I guess…
Cheers

AFL News: Pies flag hero announces concussion-forced retirement, Larkey confident North can turn season around

JJ he is so very frustrating ..as you say.
IPL or T20 he comes out of his shell
Tests..he can be like a first gamer at times. Nervous and edgy
I’m not doing research but I imagine his last 20 test innings would highlight his unreliability

'Unbelievable, special knock': Head smashes fourth fastest IPL century to help sink Kohli's RCB

I guess PJ all clubs bottom out at some stage.
North are not alone with their problems as the once mighty Hawks and Eagles have succumbed as well.
But it’s up to some astute trading and drafting and input into their youngsters to get up the ladder
Thats all of the three.

Haha 😂

seems like everyone is correcting you Rowdy
but I enjoyed the history lessons from the guys

Agreed. I also think teams need that something different and special ..X factor…player
That’s why I think Bailey Smith’s absence has really hurt them.
Dare to run and carry because Dale and others seem to have lost it somewhat

Six Points: Why Dogs' disaster isn't all Bevo's fault, Eagles on their way, and 2024's biggest beat-up

Tim, I agree re Comben. Took them a while but hopefully he holds a spot down and gives North more structure to build on.
Maybe they might get something from Sellers if they are prepared to play him. Another big kid.

With Pittonett in the ruck Macca would it be a bit risky to play DeKoning at CHB in lieu of McGovern.??
I know Young is there but it just appealed to me.
Also , have to get more from smalls up fwd. Motlop and Martin are sorely missed

Footy Fix: Amazing Adelaide resurrect their season with one of the great wins... but how on earth did they pull it off?

what happens there Ben…does he just pull his socks up 😂

UPDATED: Dogs place Liberatore in concussion protocols after scary collapse, but maintain no symptoms

PD from an outsider’s point of view I have to say I like Buku and O’Donnell
What I didn’t like was Treloar’s soft efforts
Or a couple of VFL types ..you may have mentioned one
And a truly off night for English. Old Goldy showed him the way on the night
The dogs certainly disappoint me as I have a soft spot for them
I also like Don Freo’s comments about the Bont being CHB and delivering offensively…could extend his career ….if nothing else

'Stuck in quicksand': The Bulldogs are lost in mid-table mediocrity again - and something's got to give soon

Dem, your post yesterday about Dogs stuck in mediocrity could not have been more prophetic
They do their best to prove your point of view

'Stuck in quicksand': The Bulldogs are lost in mid-table mediocrity again - and something's got to give soon

Have to agree with you Doc. I’m hopeful that he gets a series of tests to determine if it’s a result of previous knocks or internal problems or serious dehydration ..which should not be the case
won’t speculate anymore but elite athletes just don’t keel over unless there is an underlying problem

I know it was yesterday Macca when you posted Carlton’s stats but I’m glad you jumped in there and sorta backed me up.
And Teams don’t always gel early …a round or three to stop puffing and run easier
But Blues have four wins and Walsh back…plus depth
And whereas the next few rounds look tough the form of a couple is nothing to get excited about.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions, Round 5: After a weekend of 9s, can our experts back it up?

A bit late getting back Don …Darcy not chosen after all. Need a run in the twos ?
Wines and P-Pepper add a bit more to the Port’s mids..looking strong
the game of the round… should give a good indicator on both sides

He is a great young footballer…but I’m probably biased as he has my given name 😂

AFL News: Players Association slams 'double standards' in Finlayson ban, Cats to weigh up Thomas lifeline

Port is one team that appreciates their home ground advantage and crowd support
I feel Freo will have to exploit Port’s defensive structure. Which I don’t think has improved that much
As you suggest the on ball battle could be the decider

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions, Round 5: After a weekend of 9s, can our experts back it up?

KTK ..I’d politely disagree with you that Carlton are overrated.
If you have the two Coleman medalists of recent times , a Brownlow medalist on ball with one not far behind (Walsh) when on the park and a sound defensive UNIT that is good in the air and quick on rebound there is a lot to like about them
And mostly they have reserve depth
But OMHO

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions, Round 5: After a weekend of 9s, can our experts back it up?

One thing I am having a head scratch over Barb is why are players still letting themselves get suspended each week for head high knocks. All have been deliberate and deserve a penalty
But , why? We get overheated about a slur ..correctly so.. and demand a penalty for the slur but we don’t read about players being sent to any counselling and training for their aggression.
Comes back to the clubs of course to do something.
But how that St Kilda player could injure his North opponent the way he did is beyond me.
Shades of the ’70’s
