Rules for thee and not for me, I.E. when does Labuschagne get challenged about about his verse about a fairy God father (who’s been used to justify some pretty horrible stuff over the years) ?

'Double standards': Khawaja savages ICC hypocrisy in Instagram post as Cummins defends 'pretty vanilla' protest

To my mind, the most controversial call in the first was to NOT sin bin or red card th Argentinean player who took Jordan out in the air.
I was happy with it being just a penalty, as it was clumsy rather than deliberate, and Jordan wasn’t injured. However, I had been under the impression those situations were an automatic card.

'Mature, clinical and getting better every time': All Blacks time run perfectly as they hone in on fourth title

I’m not sure I believe the source …
For just one example, the relevant law regarding a charge down allows Kolbe to leave the line once Ramos initiates the kick, not just once he (Ramos) moves towards the ball.

On my viewing, Kolbe’s charged own was legal under the first interpretation, but not the later (older) interpretation.

RWC News: 'Five major errors' reported in O'Keeffe's QF, Rassie misogyny row, Boks react to death threat 'hooligans'

Possibly looking to improve their point differential ?
After 2 games each, NZ are +54 and France are +29 (Italy are +65, but they have played the two weakest teams in their group).

COMPLETE RWC teams week 3: Eddie makes three changes, Wales skipper misses out, Farrell back for England

Lots of teams there, makes the ligistics a bit hard… Maybe two divisions with promotion / relegation (just joking – can’t have Wallabies in 2nd division 😊

SPIRO ZAVOS: Return of the 'Woeful Wallabies' after 'coaching failure in heat of battle' - and how high can the Fijians fly?

Its the macca’s ad with “Living on a Prayer” (Bon Jovi), not a Toyota ad at all.

Fox's commentary cost-cutting has taken their coverage to rock bottom. It's time they were called out

You need to get west of Glebe.

NZ vs Aus studs and duds: 'Stop deflecting and ask why you're heading for worst record in Wallaby history'

Slipper also lead the Championship in number of yellow cards.
Discipline.

REACTION: Rennie and Wallabies 'crumble' in Auckland again as All Blacks put on a 'masterclass'

Every Wallaby supporter seems to forget that
1) the ABs were awarded a scrum. I.E. They were still behind.
2) it was an AB feed, so assume they were 90% guaranteed to win the scrum.
3) the ABs still had to score to win.
TLDR; don’t blame Foley or Reynal, blame the Wallaby scrum.

Bernard Foley and a brief history of time wasting in rugby

Compare the first 10 or 15 minutes of the second half against the rest of the game. ABs were sharp, crisp.

The rest of the game they appeared to be waiting for permission to do something.

ANALYSIS: Lacking belief and constrained by uncertainty, the All Blacks are suffering in the land of the long dark cloud

He’s fallen in the water !!
Obviously, part of the waterboy / run on trainers.

RUGBYCOLOGY: The Wallabies player rival teams target at the restart, and why he's a weakness

Slower and less reliable than an escape car, and depending on the specific goat, sometimes actually dangerous.
Hower, escape goats have the advantage that they will use anything for fuel.

BRETT GEEVES: Marnus, Smith schtick is infuriating and must be countered by impactful verbals

Kevin Pietersen (born Pietermaritzburg, South Africa)

BRETT GEEVES: Marnus, Smith schtick is infuriating and must be countered by impactful verbals

From a rugby perspective, 1) outside backs are Julio’s, 2) forwards are the bedrock of the nation.
The inside backs are there to translate.

Don’t over think it. When the Boks talk about DNA, they’re thinking long term, looking for a Barret or Ioane family to call their own.

Best Barrett? Best Mo? Worst cliche? Still plenty to play for in TRC finale despite the inevitable results

There’s an old sports saying that you learn more from a defeat than a win … unfortunately, the tags seem to be intent on testing this saying.
– meaningless kicking
– windmill defence

The canes were only marginally better. I can’t imagine the cricket score that the Crusaders or Brumbies would have put up against a side defending like either the Tahs or Canes.
Edit: I have tickets for Waratahs v Crusaders up in Wollongong … not sure if it was money well spent ????

Hurricanes outgun Waratahs in shootout

God spoke to him and told him do it
Let God take over his contract. Given his (God’s) rumoured resources, however, it sets a bad precedent… may need a salary cap…

Get Israel Folau and Alan Joyce across the table

Regardless of our (differing) opinions as to Folau’s suitability for full-back versus winger, it only makes sense to give someone else (in this case, DHP) a run in the position.

If Folau is the selectors choice for FB going into the World Cup, he will be in the run-on side in at least two of the pool matches, and all the knockout matches. This increases his exposure to injury; the side needs a backup for him, and this game (relatively unimportant compared to the WC) is a good time to test DHP. As it is, selecting both in tonight’s game allows the luxury of swapping them back to what appears to be the selectors desired position if necessary.

I am no fan of Cheika’s selection or coaching skills, but credit where due; he’s got this right.

All eyes will be on Israel Folau tonight

The playing style of the Waratah’s in the 1st and 2nd haves showed a marked contrast;
in The 2nd half, they were slower in defense and attack, Folau and Naiyaravoro only rarely got the ball. Obviously, fatigue was a factor (2 yellows), but they had two chances in the second half to close it out with penalties.

And seriously, whats with kicking away the possession ? In fact, what’s with the Foley kicking game ?He only seems to get 15 or 20 yards up the field from a penalty, he can kick penalty goals from all over the field EXCEPT when the pressure on.

Waratahs suffer Super Rugby heartbreak

rugby is a religion across the ditch

Did you listen to the foxtel commentary of Chiefs v Jaguares ? Apparently, NZ club rugby in regional areas was being played on Friday night, this weekend, rather than Saturday night. The unions have learnt through experience that no one turns up to play when it’s opening day for the duck season.

Maybe it’s a papal dispensation ?

Australia still hasn't come to grips with professional rugby

You wish 🙂

IF they win tomorrow, the Waratahs are still chasing the Jaguares (2 wins against kiwi sides in NZ) !!!

Blues no barometer for Aussie teams but May is judgement month

FWIW, some things don’t change though …

During tonight’s Chiefs v Jags game, one of the commentators mentioned club rugby (in regional NZ, anyway) had been moved from Saturday arvo to Friday night this weekend.

Because Saturday is opening day of the Duck Shooting season.

(Perhaps the author should join PETA …)

New Zealand's 'Diversity is Strength' campaign lacks spine

You play to your strengths. Passing and catching and defending (especially in the 2nd 40) obviously not a strength of Aussie SR.
