The Crows simply haven’t jelled yet. There seems to be a disconnect between players and a lack of leadership. Confidence is down as are a core of senior players. Only two games in but they look off the pace and ill-disciplined at times. Geelong seemed to work harder apply more pressure and two way running – do Rachele and Rankine work back hard defensively ? It’s one of a number of issues as well as lacking leadership in defence. The coaching is also not working. When the Crows did precision kicking through the centre they got a goal. But most of the time they went down the line. Not enough confidence to be more adventurous? Or not encouraged by the Coach? Freo are playing well. 0-3 and the pressure will be on.

The Crows have shown faith - now Matthew Nicks must repay them with bolder, braver coaching

Yes but Collingwood put in a worst effort in the 3rd quarter

Six Points: Cram the Crows condescending, Bucks, Swans weren't that good, and the rule change AFL must make

Not ‘alledged ‘confirmed by the Afl as a missed free kick.

And the umps buddy

Thanks for this Macca. And good on AFL for making this admission.

Pies were bloody lucky to win that game. Rankine goal. Crows Captain whacked across the face all in the last quarter. At some point their luck will run out. Hope the Crows meet them in the finals and do just that.

Showdown is better as a stand alone game. If you are worried about home ground advantage suggest move the GF when it includes Carlton Collingwood Richmond or Hawthorn.

Six Points: 2023's biggest umpiring farce, Kelli Underwood's commentary, and was Gather Round really THAT good?

Hi Tim,
A fun read.
I think you need to come to Adelaide next year and experience it for yourself.
It is a game changing concept in that a VFL centric sport relocates completely to another state for one round.
It is reminscent of the old aussies rules carnivals.
A reminder as you acknowledge of the local tradition in Adelaide.
There were many Victorian supporters embracing the concept. I ran into 9 Carlton supporters before the Crows game at the genteel Queens Head Hotel 10mins from the oval. Good on them for coming over.
Yes it is a National Competition.

Erin is a great player and was integral to the Crows formidable winning culture. Her father was a rock in defence but note for the Magpies not the Power – Freudian slip?

Erin Phillips and Port Adelaide are changing the way AFLW is played

Rotate the GF to other grounds so that MCG management learn their lesson pure and simple.

Crows joined because of money from SANFL to save the bankrupt VFL.

AFL News: Selwoods share 'miracle' baby news, standalone Sharks on the verge of VFL history

Seems a no brainer that Gold Coast should be folded into Southport. Why they weren’t from the get go reflects poorly on the Vic centric nature of AFL. No respect for grass roots outside Vic.

Sure there was a subtext in that

Exactly. And that is all fine apparently. Double standards.

Well you won’t get Rankine. He either stays where he is or joins the Crows.

Where to for Port after disappointing 2022?

Yep Rostrevor College and barracked for the Crows growing up. A lawyer as well.

The Roar's AFL experts tips and predictions: Round 23

Let’s hope those ‘self entitled’ led by their private school educated Captain get their comeuppance from the Crows.

The Roar's AFL experts tips and predictions: Round 23

It’s very sad what happened to Eddie and JJ. It is on Don Pyke and the other coaches who did not seem to comprehend what was occurring in front of them was unacceptable. Roo also needs to own what happened in a more profound way. The players who may seek damages are quite within their rights given the hurt and betrayal of trust.

For Matthew Nick’s and the current playing group the rebuild is starting to show positive outcomes. It is important for supporters that this continues next year and renews faith in the club.

You mean lied to the SANFL and went behind their back. Hard to face facts for a club that places so much importance on history.
