Fanatical football fan and cricket tragic. Favorite teams are Barcelona FC and the Indian cricket team (yes I'm an Indian born Australian resident). Favorite players are Lionel Messi, David Warner (love his cricket) and Jasprit Bumrah.

Spruce moose, where did you get your information from? Have you seen the Indian team that just beat Australia? Guys like Bumrah, kuldip, Pant, Shami, Pujara are all from small dusty Indian towns, and none of them were born with silver spoons. In fact they rose up from next to nothing.
Are Australia's coaches really developing the players they're working with?
It’s a fine line between managing them and denying match practice. Rest them from the ODIs and T20s sure. But Australia had done ridiculous things like recalling players from the middle of a test series and resting players from Sheffield Shield.
Are Australia's bowlers overrated?
The Aussie bowlers are an extremely talented bunch and proven performers. So why are they struggling? My guess is because they have been ‘rested’ too much under this high performance crap. Bumrah attributed his fitness to having bowled large number of overs in first class cricket. Starc was rested wasn’t he?
Are Australia's bowlers overrated?
Spot on Stuart. Warner with his silence has actually come out the best of the three. Hope he maintains his silence. Time to move on and focus on the cricket.
It’s time for Warner to come out from the bus under which he was thrown
I disagree. Really excited that kuldip is finally playing. In my view he’s India’s best spinner, better than Ashwin. He’s a genuine wicket taker and is also dangerous on flat tracks because batsman have struggled to pick him across the world. India have played their best 11, unlike Australia.
India will be mistaken to play two spinners in Sydney
Great article. And nice point about the disappointing work by the journos and commentators.
Australia isn't playing its best team
You mentioned that there will be restrictions on speed. Does that mean that they will cap the speed of a far bowler? If so this is absolute nuts. I read that they even contemplated doing away with lbw top make the game simpler! I reckon this is yet another example of “innovation” by non cricketing people inspired by baseball.
The ECB’s 'The Hundred' is the beginning of the end for cricket
It’s not T20 per se but the focus of the cricket administrators and junior coaches in nurturing young talent with T20 in mind. It should be the other way round, nurture the players to play test cricket, those with a wide range of shots will do well in t20 in addition to test cricket, those who prefer to craft and anchor should focus on the longer forms alone. How well are Sheffield Shield players rewarded? Let’s say Australia had a young pujara, yet to make the national team, who’s grinding his way in the Sheffield Shield and would never play in the bbl because he does not have the big shots. Would such players be rewarded or would they be disincenticised and forced to try change their game to cash in on the big bucks offered by t20? This is where CA needs to be smart. Use the revenues from t20 to grow and nurture the longer form cricket, and most importantly coach the school kids to play with test cricket in mind.
Don't blame the Big Bash for Australia's batting woes
Why not give Jason sangha a shot? If this kid has the technique to succeed then maybe he should be blooded early in test cricket before t20 steals him. India has successfully pushed talented kids to the forefront. Sachin made his debut aged 16 against a fiery Pakistan pace attack on a greentop wicket. He also toured Australia at the age of 18 in 1992 and scored two tons. Jasons Indian counterpart at the u19 level, prithvi Shaw made his test debut against the windies in Nov and scored a ton. He would have opened the batting here had he not unfortunately twisted his ankle. So should we take a risk and blood Jason against sri Lanka?
Another Test selection embarrassment after Australia's Melbourne meltdown
The so called high performance bullshit going on since pat howard needs to stop. Cricket is a game of skill and there is only so much science and corporate strategies can do. Resting players from shield cricket and even test matches seems to be the trend with CA. As Shane Warne has commented, is this affecting the rhythm of our players? Are they physically fit but not match fit?
The facts behind a dismal 2018 for Australian cricket
One of the problems is that CA is being run like a business. Profit and loss seems to be their prime consideration, nor advancing the sport, nurturing talent. You see it in all the corporate buzz they spew like “high performance”, “ethics”, the prioritization of T20, the pay disputes trey keep having with the players.. The end result is what we are seeing today. Players who are only suited for the revenue minting short form cricket.
Langer a busy man, but not nearly as busy as his assistants should be…
He almost destroyed Indian cricket when he was coach, was foolish enough to pick on Sachin tendulkar and was promptly kicked out by the Indian board.
