They are certainly rolling in funding.

North Korea a potential mystery bet in the competition. Not sure they’ll get past Japan but would certainly have a few coaches guessing heading into the tournament.

Undoubtedly doing the pathways better than any club. And deserving the success.
Having a merry go 'round: The A-League coaches 'stamping their value' in 2024
Applies to all sports in my view. Get the defence right and then broaden the attack as you can without being exposed defensively.

My under 13’s girls lost 17-0 in their first ever game. When we played the same two a few months late, we lost 4-0. Just call me Pep.

Indeed, winning is winning and it is great to see a team like the Mariners doing it across an extended period in such a style. Rarely a boring game when the boys from Gosford turn up. Academy success, McBreen important and the hope for the future simply brings people to the ground each week.

I wrote about Nisbet a few years back. He impressed me from day one due to a mental obsession with smaller players and what they offer. Farrell is a goer!! Love the toughness and aggression.

Italiano has undertaken coaching 101 in my view. Start with the defence, stop leaking goals, hold shape, be diligent at the back and ingrain the style. Then, as the confidence becomes more permanent, broaden and become and little more ambitious with the ball. Hopefully we start to see that in the future.

The club I have nothing but bad emotions and feelings about, yet, credit due when required. Talay has them improving week to week and they are finals bound.

Mak commands plenty as a current European international, we don’t have many of those come through the league these days. That’s a big slice for Lolley, yet without him, Sydney could well have been in even more dire straits. A quality player at A-League level.

Yep, as I suggested above, regardless of the results, Talay has made immense changes and they will be for the betterment of the club in the medium term. Something Corica failed at miserably after a positive start.
Having a merry go 'round: The A-League coaches 'stamping their value' in 2024
I think Talay has done well and mostly from a style perspective rather than results. Sydney look younger, braver and more adventurous under him, which as we all know, was required. He deserved recognition for that, as much as I’d be chuffed to see them out of the finals and a new contender there.

Yep, going well and great to see. Yet those were the four that stood out for me. Some very good coaches across the league at the moment.

I agree about Leclerc. I’m tipping he will have Hamilton’s measure. Sainz would be an interesting move to Merc. Poor guys seems to get shunted from everywhere he goes whenever the seats reshuffle. I also think the Oscar/Lando battle could be a ripper this season. Bring on testing!
Lewis Hamilton to Scuderia Ferrari - what it means for the rest of the grid
A nice summation of the situation. Reserve driver Schumacher is surely no chance of the Mercedes seat? Personally, Ocon looks the most likely.

I love the idea of being able to pick up the ball, perhaps the captains prerogative to do so whenever he feels fit? Would be brilliant to watch.
Shove your blue cards where the sun doesn't shine, football - the game is already over-officiated
And the incident you have described raises the key question…..was that dissent? No swearing, nothing insulting, just an encouragement to blow the whistle. People will have different views based on different standards and thus, we end up in a quagmire of inconsistency.

Ooops, I’m writing a book at the moment about the tournament, and know full well it was at Suncorp, but for some reason wrote Sydney. Sincere apologies. A Sydney, gluten free muffin eating, soy latte drinking, woke hippy fool. Happy to take that one on the chin.
