ALana Boyd takes to the runway for her second attempt at 4.80. She’s gets up, clips the bar, it wobbles around and stays on. Four women have now cleared the height. Great Britain’s Holly Bradshaw has missed her third and final attempt at this height, while NIcole Buchler has passed 4.80 after missing her first attempt. Up the bar goes to 4.85.

The women’s 5000m final is the next event on track. It will feature three Australians, Eloise Wellings, Madeline Heiner-Hills and Genevieve LaCaze. All eyes, hoever, will be on Ethiopia’s Almaz Ayana. Question marks surround drug use for plagued Ayana since her dominant victory in the 10,000 last Saturday. In that race she obliterated both her opposition and the world record.
