And who are they – ‘many’ that you mentioned in your post? I hope you can back up your claim by quoting people like Waugh brothers, Warnie, and/or Border. Good luck!

Tendulkar closer to calling it a day for good

Ben D.,

Perhaps you might have just pointed out the single most reason why Kallis go as the most underrated allrounder. His figures against ENG, as you pointed out, is average.

Seriously, since when did we start measuring a player’s caliber by his performance against ENG alone?

Windies hammer Australia to level ODI series at 1-1

geno,

Did Tendulkar refuse to give you an autograph or perhaps did something worse to you? You seem to have a serious grudge against one of the greatest batsmen of all time (whether you accept it or not), and a bit of respect wouldn’t hurt.

It looks to me like you are consciously trying to bring his name into every discussion and downplay his achievements. If you could explain your reasons behind such actions, may be I could understand why you say the things you do.

It’s worth pointing out that Cricinfo picked an “All-Time XI” in 2011 (I believe), and judging by the comments on some of these articles I believe many will be very surprised. The jury included people like Ian Chappell, Clive Lloyd, Peter Roebuck, Ajit Wadekar, and John Wright. And as far as I’m aware, they are not employed by BCCI.

The XI

Jack Hobbs
Leonard Hutton
Donald Bradman
Sachin Tendulkar
Viv Richards
Garry Sobers
Adam Gilchrist
Malcolm Marshall
Shane Warne
Wasim Akram
Dennis Lillee

And since we are on Tendulkar and Bradman, Sir Don himself had Tendulkar in his XI.

How does Tendulkar rate against Bradman and Gavaskar?

From Cricinfo:

In the event of teams finishing on equal points, the right to play in the final match or series will be determined as follows:

The team with the most number of wins
If still equal, the team with the most number of wins over the other team(s) who are equal on points and have the same number of wins
If still equal, the team with the highest number of bonus points
If still equal, the team with the highest net run rate

So in short, net run rate is the last thing they consider.

Kohli smashes India back into the finals race

“Tendulkar was comfortably run out and, in my view, would not have made his ground even if the way had been completely clear. ”

C’mon now. From what I have seen Tendulkar would’ve made his ground quite easily if Lee was not in front of him with his legs wide open.

So, according to Taylor, the “spirit of the game” decisions are always in favor of the batsmen, but you concluded that Taylor would’ve judged Tendulkar out in his case. Interesting!

Hussey, Lee and Tendulkar give the 'spirit of cricket' another workout

Probably because India are in a deep hole now.

I’m not certain whether he’s officially retired from T20 Internationals or not, but Tendulkar doesn’t play T20I for India any longer it seems.

Tendulkar's hundreds are a sham and the joke's on him
