Great article Marty and you have also touched on one of footy’s tragedies to me. That being the fact none of us will know how great Lance Franklin would have been up the ground. Could Roarers imagine Buddy jetting downfield from CHB (think Rance) or dominating the air on a wing (a la Mathew Richardson), streaming from a back flank (Robbie Flower) ? What sights they could have been and I will be forever disappointed Longmire didnt have the vision or courage to let us see what the most naturally gifted athlete we have seen, could do with a whole oval to use as his canvas.
