Unfortunate that Opetaia had to vacate the IBF belt given that Briedis was injured and couldn’t fight anyway.

It could very well just be that Cricket Australia don’t want to give a platform (and pay money to) a guy who has made very public, highly personal attacks against one of their employees. And he’s even admitted that he was motivated by spite.

'You'd be shocked': Khawaja vows to 'fight' CA ban on anti-war statement as he's told he has 'zero right' to protest
He can protest if he likes, but he has to accept the consequences of such action. Good on him if he follows through.

You might not realise, but the Black Lives Matter movement and the phrase itself was a reaction to the apparent disregard for the death of African Americans in the justice system in the United States and the lack of accountability for those responsible. The phrase is a reminder that Black Lives Matter as much as any other lives.

The game has moved on from MacQueen. Even he would admit that.

Well actually, they can – sourcing finance is part of business.
Humility cuts both ways: Brett Clark and the QRU deserve the same scrutiny as Hamish McLennan
^^This. Extremely hard to read. Could only really skim it.

RA rules are 3 years separation from their last position in a state Union to avoid conflicts.

Ah, I misunderstood. Yes – David Hanham. Won the head of the river in 1998 as stroke. Right man for the job.
Humility cuts both ways: Brett Clark and the QRU deserve the same scrutiny as Hamish McLennan
How is someone meant to gain any serious experience in rugby administration without working at a state union?
Edit: I suppose running the rugby program at the right sort of school would be sufficient. Or at least being that guy’s son.

Playing the game is one thing, but running it? Rugby used to have standards.

Might as well recruit directly from prisons. Or Saint Paul’s.

If we’re going to bash private schools, we should at least get it right – Neither of these guys went to Churchie.
Brett Clark went to Boys Grammar, Daniel Herbert went to Marist Brothers in Ashgrove. Marist Brothers isn’t even GPS! Madness…

Not taking anything away from Rod MacQueen, but he had a lot more to work with than Dave Rennie did.
COMMENT: 'Best interests of the game'? Hamish's dummy spit proves RA was right to cut him loose
People always used to say if a coach hadn’t won a premiership in their first 7 years they never would. Impossible.
Then Ivan Cleary (10 years without a premiership) won 3 in a row.
Two NRL coaches, 20 seasons between them - and bugger all to show for it
They won 17 matches in the regular season in 2022 and won 15 in 2023. Not exactly a massive drop off in form.
Two NRL coaches, 20 seasons between them - and bugger all to show for it
Literally no coach in the NRL has a 33% premiership success rate.
Two NRL coaches, 20 seasons between them - and bugger all to show for it
Well…
It was a sixteen team completion for most of those years. So an average coach would be expected to only make the finals 8 times, win one grand final, lose one grand final and win a wooden spoon in a span of 16 years. And win 50% of their games.
After 10 years, Brad Arthur has six finals appearances, a spoon and lost a grand final. He’s doing okay, particularly considering that he took over an absolute shambles of a team.
Stuart is 5/10 for finals and has reached the grand final once. No spoons. He’s won more than 50% of the games. He’s doing an average job. Certainly not terrible.
Both of these clubs were basket cases when the coaches took over. Neither of them have ever had a roster which could be said to be expected to win a premiership. Neither of them could be considered failures unless the only criteria that success is judged by is winning a premiership, which is absurd because it means that 15 (now 16) clubs have a bad season every year.

It was the DPP. The Raiders contacted them directly to point out the discrepancies in the evidence.
'A traumatic experience': Latrell relieved after brawling charges with Wighton thrown out of court
Different scenario with Milford and Leilua. It was reasonable to charge both of them. The reason the charges were dropped in Leilua’s case was a lack of cooperation from the victim.
'A traumatic experience': Latrell relieved after brawling charges with Wighton thrown out of court
The DPP had the CCTV footage before it went to court. There is clearly a cultural problem in that office.

The closest equivalent in the ACT to an American style district attorney would be the Director of Public Prosecutions, and they’ve already had one of them resign in disgrace earlier this year.
There is clearly a real problem in the ACT DPP. Complete clown show.
