Owen Finegan anyone?

Where can the Wallabies find a mongrel or two?

Great to see plenty of commentary and feedback on last nights game.

There has been a few challenges in the past few weeks, re limited prep and training time but that’s rugby, and we will learn from it. Having said that, last night gave quite a few glimpses of our potential and some of you have commented on them here. In short, we need to convert a great twenty minutes into a solid eighty minutes and it’s going to take a little time to do so.

For those that came to the game, thank you! Next time make sure you come along to RAMS HQ pre and post match at the Albion Hotel to meet some of the fans, coaches and players and enjoy some Hahn hospitality.

Credit to the Vikings for their win and also coming along post match and joining in. We now have a much needed nine days to regroup\recharge the batteries and prepare for game 3 against Perth in Adelaide (unusual yes).

The Vikings Ram home their point

Thought it might be worthwhile chiming in here, and welcome Steve Mafi to the Greater Sydney Rams. Great to see the Two Blues legend return to the fold.

Brad Thorn joins English club Leicester

Boris where livestreaming is concerned, we are currently speaking with FoxSports re this and should have an answer by COB tomorrow.

On your other comment, one of our fans recently posted on the Facebook page of our fan group the Horned Army that is bang on:

I support two teams the RAMS and anyone playing the Stars.

Thought you might like to know that Jed Holloway has just been announced as the Captain of the Rams for 2014.

We hear you Mike – just wanted the Roarers to have their say. We will be doing our very best to ensure that One Family of highly committed and motivated Rams ensure that a certain teams Stars do not align on September 13.

Thanks WallaTah, we are pretty excited too. Love your enthusiasm Mike but lets just see how it all pans out – whilst on the subject who do you consider to be the Villains of the NRC (if there is one)?

Actually its not the dullest question I have been asked today, so all good.

Our two interstate games (Brisbane and Adelaide) will involve one night away for the team. The BrisVegas game is scheduled for a Thursday night and Adelaide is probably a stretch to play in the afternoon and travel home. So thats the logic part, the fun part is that it gives many of the players without Super Rugby and Wallaby experience the opportunity to travel and play and head out as a team – a glimpse of the pathway if you will.

Where Adelaide is concerned, few in Rugby circles will have ever played there, so its certainly a point of difference.

John Manenti: The unlikely Shute Shield grand final is a boon for the Rams

See you there. Have you seen our new promo video, it’s pretty cool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tudQLv6tXeo. Season passes are online too, they are the best value as they are 4 for the price of 3 – good mates packs too.

G’day Tah Man, the Rams home ground is Pirtek Stadium in Parramatta so we expect it will be in excellent shape week in week out. Our other Sydney matches will be played at Coogee (against NSW Country) and Brookvale (against the North Harbour Rays) and our two non NSW away games will be in Adelaide and Brisbane.

You can check out all the other home facilities via some of the articles on The Roar: http://www.theroar.com.au/2014/07/08/nrc-update-pt-1-queensland-perth-melbourne-canberra/ and http://www.theroar.com.au/2014/07/09/rowrnrc-update-part-2-nsw-country-sydney-teams/. But broadly speaking its the likes of Ballymore, Brookvale, Leichhardt and AAMI park (Melb), so all great tracks.

Thanks for the redirect jeznez & Bakkies. Jeznez you are correct laughter is the correct response as sometimes we let ourselves take life a little too seriously leading us to play the man without the benefit of context.

At our launch both Greg and Billy made a comment about let’s hope the boys don’t go too hard on eachother or get hurt, but each followed this with the expectation that they would go at it like hammer and tongs (thats the kids friendly version).

Should be a great game and a real positive for Shute Shield rugby.

I think your mail is correct, as reports are that there will be plenty of buses heading NNW to the game. There is work being doing to replicate this with buses converging on Coogee from West and SW Sydney when we take on NSW Country – hope to see you all there.

Thanks guys, appreciate your feedback and support. More to follow, plenty more.
