Yes, if 80% of the revenue is brought in by the Wallabies, expenditure on them should not be <20%. I was not aghast at the bill for the RWC; I was not happy about (a) the ROI and (b) the secrecy and lack of accounting.
Also, the Lions, Bleds, RWC is WB-centric and with Joe-Lord & Co, there’s a good chance now: just need depth depth depth at key positions.
The weakest 10 or so players often are the margin: SA and Ire and NZ’s “weakest 10” are pretty good!

Yes, for me the main thing Australia could do is cap anyone who shows Test quality, wherever they may be. So many have slipped between the cracks or could not find the contract they liked. So cap them! Imagine a Bledisloe Cup squad with Meafou, Hansen, Dempsey, Tuipolotu and the five best current Aussie forwards abroad in it? Better? Yes.

As you know, I love Ulster rugby and am not happy about 2024, but it does look like brighter days could come soon. Just hire Ruan Pienaar as a coach, man!

Australia can be back in the SFs, be in the top 4 rankings, beat the Lions, go 3-1 on EOYTs regularly, and make the winner of the Bledisloe a mystery again. That’ll do. Let the Boks keep winning the Cup! 😂

I’d hardly suspect Franco Mostert, PSDT, Vermeulen, Kitshoff, Malherbe, and Wiese as being gym cheats! Several other teams in world rugby look mysteriously jacked, juiced and vascular. Boks are mostly adverse to heavy lifting or obsession with leaning out.
