It wasn’t even a bouncer, he ducked into a back of the length ball. His technique is terrible, he does not watch the ball closely enough, he will never make it in international cricket clearly evidenced by the fact that he cannot make it in shield cricket. Cricket Australia should step in and not allow him to play, but Will should step down himself knowing he has a problem that he clearly cannot resolve.

Will Pucovski has given Australian sport its first major concussion test case

Jones kept saying he was preparing the Wallabies for 2027 and this World Cup would always be difficult. He would have known exactly what Australian rugby was like when he took the job a few months ago, this would have been a big part of any coaches discussions during the interview process. So to now come out and say the cupboard is empty is very disingenuous, made even worse by laying into the last 20 years of Australian rugby. Australian rugby has significant challenges for sure, but they can be fixed. Best thing for Aus rugby is Jones leaving, absolutely the best thing. I think Hamish has a lot of things to answer for as well as this happened under his leadership and support.

'Load of rubbish': Eddie tees off on 'red herring' excuse for Wallabies' RWC flop, rejects Hoops issue, Lions link

I thought Frizell was lucky not to get red carded for his clear out on Bongi. Arm around the neck of Bongi and then basically doing a hip drop tackle is very dangerous and left SA without their star hooker for 77 minutes and it clearly had an impact on their game. Their lineouts were disrupted as were their scrums. I would argue his loss was as bad as NZ losing Cane. League has come down hard on this kind of tackle and union should do the same.

SPIRO ZAVOS: 'Crazy brave' Boks are a team for the ages - but key decisions cleared their path to glory

Enjoyed reading that a lot, thanks Ehhh

It's not just the Wallabies - Australasian rugby is withering on the vine as self-interest, arrogance and denial take hold

It’s hard to compare to the rugby the 90s unfortunately, players are a lot bigger, stronger, faster, impacts harder. The game changed and the rules had to change with it. I still think the product is a good one and there are a lot of great games played through the year. In terms of Australian rugby, seems pretty obvious that school to club to super rugby to wallabies is not working and it should not take rocket science to get it worked out, Australia has a lot of good rugby brains…just need to avoid the state politics. One thing I am sure of, taking an inexperienced team to a World Cup flogging was not the right approach.

I think I would rather saw off my big toe with a blunt spoon than listen to a podcast with bandana man.

SPIRO ZAVOS: My message to Hamish McLennan and Eddie Jones: 'In the name of God, go'

I don’t know what’s worse, coaching our team to failure at the World Cup or wanting to go home and watch the ABC…

'People smell blood': Eddie says Wallabies had to change ahead of World Cup ... even if it costs him his job

He’s right, they are the ones out there making the mistakes, dropping the ball, missing tackles, conceding penalties, kicking the ball away. However, not having calm experienced players out there is certainly not helping this team, and that is party the fault of the coach. I don’t think you take an inexperienced team to a World Cup to prepare for the next World Cup. You have 4 years post World Cup to do that. You need experience at a World Cup and that’s the point of selection. The only sympathy I have for Jones in this area is his cupboard of experienced players is not that full, but he certainly made it hard on himself with a few of the experienced players he did leave out. Hooper may not be the biggest and best loose forward, but his experienced would more than counter that. Same could be said about Cooper and a couple of others. I think losing Skelton was also a big loss, his experience and physicality was missed

'We're the ones out there': Wallabies go in to bat for under-siege Eddie ahead of must-win World Cup clash

Absolutely, consistency in concussion protocols, etc…that is needed…however the real reason I suspect there is little action in terms of concussion is the fact that there is really little that can be done if you play a contact sport to prevent it. 30% of concussions come from body contact, not even head contact…same concussion you suffer in a car accident due to whiplash…so it’s not just protecting the head. It is like smoking, you either smoke or you don’t, and if you do, you know the risks…no way to mitigate the risk of smoking. Athletes are stronger, fitter, faster, collisions are harder…show me a report that is going to mitigate that..perhaps touch rugby.. 😊

Race to the bottom: Which football code can dive deepest into concussion black hole?

“But Ford’s performance was, in my opinion, the biggest big game any No.10 has played in a RWC tournament.” Fair enough, your opinion, but for a respected rugby journalist to make such a ludicrous statement is laughable..the biggest game any No.10 has played..really.. ignore Stransky for a moment, what about Larkham or Jannie De Beer or Wilkinson…crazy talk…

SPIRO ZAVOS: Skelton a force of nature, All Blacks' strategic error that has put their World Cup in peril

Haas will not do well in union and will go running back to league after a season. The skills required to compete as a lock, flanker or 8th man in union take years to learn. Just the ability to compete for the ball in todays game will leave Haas completely exposed. And he may run a few hundred meters in league but that is nothing compared to what he will have to do in rugby, together with tackling and playing the ball, scrums and line outs. League back line players may have a chance in union but moving to the union forward pack from league, no chance.

Mackenzie wasn’t patchy, he was shocking, in all aspects but nothing was worse than his terrible kicking. If he is the backup flyhalf then NZ have no chance to win the world cup if they have an injury to Richie.

Mission accomplished: Foster 'stoked' with lessons learned and back ups tuned - but injury concerns raised

I don’t even think it’s that stupid. You have to complete the catch and the catching motion while still in the field of play. Look at all those T20 catches on the boundary rope with them throwing the ball in the air and then jumping back in the field of play. According to the uproar here they should just be allowed to catch the ball over the rope. Starc could not complete the catch and stay in control without putting the ball on the ground as such no catch. If he had rolled over and kept the ball off the ground then it would have been fine.

'Biggest load of rubbish': Starc catch controversy fires up McGrath as Aussies on verge of victory after Lyon's heroic knock

England flyhalf was useless. What kind of game plan has you kicking the ball away when you have a one man advantage. Madness

UK VIEW: 'Glaring failure in discipline, game management' as Eddie's 'horrendous homecoming' humiliating

We could not tell for most of the 1st half as we had to watch the scrums from that infuriating spidercam, giving us a 1 dimensional view of nothing – other than Kearns fodder for illegal scrummaging… Cheika goes, grey goes, spidercam goes!!!

Bledisloe blowout a damning indictment of Australian rugby

Not sure about that Jack, the coach needs to take responsibility, Cheika and Grey need to draft a winning game plan and the players need to implement it. Take a look at Jake White when he was in Canberra, he took a decent rugby team and made them a good rugby team, and their defense was outstanding. As an example, I reckon if White took this Wallaby team now he would almost certainly improve their defense – this tells me a coach does have a lot to do with how a team plays, it is not just what the players do on the night.
