Good point, the National Draft had 65 players taken last year, which was down by 13 from the previous year, so it looks like there is already a decline in the number of players taken (obviously the SSP and Mid-Season Draft likely affected these numbers).
What does the future hold for a rookie listed player?
Could definitely see it, had a great first game as Captain yesterday! Hopefully he can stay healthy enough to have a crack at it, Gaff and Yeo might also challenge him for votes.
Your club’s best player who has not been an All Australian: Part 3
Agree 100%, I have a massive amount of respect for players who remain one club players, especially during the tough times. Hope he gets some due success in the final years of his career.

It was a very tough choice and Vlastuin was actually my pick for a while, I just couldn’t overlook Prestia’s achievements last season. Reckon it was between Vlastuin and Houli for the All Australian half-back spot last year, with Houli taking the honours. I back him in to make it this year.

I agree that Collingwood would struggle to get a big name key forward given their salary cap situation.
One I’d look at is Brennan Cox from Fremantle. He’s shown a bit and is still young, but will likely be stuck behind the likes of Hogan, Lobb and Taberner.
Played as a key defender recently during their Marsh match against Carlton, but might struggle to hold a spot there as well when Pearce and Hamling come back
Is Mason Cox the odd man out at Collingwood?
Thanks mate!
I definitely think Collingwood will look to shift some of their veteran and depth players before thinking about moving Cox.
Only potential issue on the horizon is the likes of Stephenson, Elliot and Phillips being out of contract in 2021.
Cox is definitely uniquely positioned to play his role given his height, but Darcy Cameron might be able to bridge the gap by being a more natural footballer (although he only has one senior AFL game under his belt).
Even if Cameron can’t take his spot, it will at least provide some competition for the position.

Good point, I’m interested to see what form reserve teams and the state leagues take after all of this as well. It could mean AFL clubs form alliances with the remaining state league teams, if they can’t sustain their own state league side anymore.
