Well said and the point taken.
Still if these guys don’t have the currency to advise with quality suggestions why appoint them? As I said above my pay grade but I still ask why is it so complicated?

'Easy to throw stones': RA chairman hits back at mudslingers' 'hypocrisy' after calls for AGM board cleanout

Why are simple things always so complicated?
‘Yet, the group essentially stopped meeting after feeling their commentary wasn’t being heard.’
This is all above my pay grade but why do I keep hearing things like this? Surely it can’t be that hard to listen to good advice and act on it?
Nick Farr-Jones, Bob Dwyer and Roger Gould would be voices worth taking on board, what is it about experienced voices that is so hard to act on? Get rid of the ego and act with integrity.

NO his mum is teaching him to do it himself although there is a board of inquirey as to where the bannana goes.

'Easy to throw stones': RA chairman hits back at mudslingers' 'hypocrisy' after calls for AGM board cleanout

What Hamish and Jones gave AR is a starting point for review and change. So if any good were to come from them change is it.
Russ has a better grip than I do, it is all above my armchair pay grade.
I would say that when I played it was policy that it was for the love of the game and the board should note that as a gauge of how they act. Egos and such are a fact of life but they are human and have a conscience and as fanciful as it sounds doing the best for the code is where they need to be, so perhaps Russ has a point as to what should be looked at otherwise the Board should be locked in a room with endless replays of Hamish saying if you don’t like it don’t watch it and Eddie saying we will win everything America’s Cup, the Super Bowl, marbles, all with an under 16 side, for a month. If last year were not enough I don’t know what will work. Nice article Russ.

'Definition of madness': Rugby reform must start with total cleanout of RA board - and this should happen next

Good match. I like Lynagh’s vision maybe a good 10 for the future with more time.
What is good to see is the intensity. ‘If’ this translates to the internationals we may have a more competitive year for the Wallabies.

'It was brutal': Clutch Lolesio kicks Brumbies to 'Test match intensity' win over Reds as Wright shines again

The photo with John Manenti and Hoops indicates John Manenti has lost a dangerous amount of weight.
I Hope Hoops has a blinder he deserves a better outcome than last year and I think he will have a go.

'Not the fastest, not the fittest': Wallaby legend's brutal self-own after Hong Kong Sevens call up

AR, I hoped we were moving on since last year.
Reading through the comments I can honestly say I’m not as up to speed as most contributors.
I would say Hamish with last year’s effort, if you don’t like it don’t watch it comment could not remain there. If there are better people to be on the board they should be there. This year there seem to be better decisions like the new coaches.
I think the AGM could be a platform for seeing if the best people are in the AR or not and getting the best team to give the sport a chance for recovery, but maybe that is a fantasy like bringing back the RWC last year.

'Previous chairman can not be a scapegoat': First salvo fired in bid to spill the Rugby Australia board

Nicely said.

Five things we learned: Schmidt's selection headache, Carter's a No.12 wildcard, and $1m Thor must step up

Does Schmidt need to look overseas as well to see what depth is available? 9 and 10 have been hard to find, Cooper seemed to be going well till he injured himself and he doesn’t seem to have got that form back. there is Lynagh and O corner but Lynagh may need more time before that step.
mostly interesting tosee what he comes up with.

Five things we learned: Schmidt's selection headache, Carter's a No.12 wildcard, and $1m Thor must step up

So if we say he’s the worst prop in the world will that make him the best prop in the world? Maybe a trip overseas might help?

That is a very fair comment. There is a lot to think about in this article and that is the point. The RA need to think about what is in place and if it works, what needs changing and what they need to add to get Australia back on track. I remember thirty years of watching state and international rugby and enjoying it as we more often than not were in with a chance.
It is different now and with the professional side of it, it requires more than what happened last year. What seems to be going on now has the smell of deliberate well-thought-out decision-making. This needs to continue and more than that they need to admit it if they get it wrong and rectify it.
This won’t happen overnight and RA could do a good job in getting that message across. Queensland lost last weekend, and I haven’t watched the match, my first thought is they need to front up week after week and be consistent. But it will take time and coaches will take time is RA on top of that? We can be right back up there given good decisions and building the good well-thought-out structure the game in Australia needs, so players get support from coaches who get support all the way through. RA could look at the centralisation problem that keeps coming up and those states who don’t trust RA, RA could ask the states what do we do to fix that? A lot to think about

Set up to fail: The gaping hole in Aussie Super Rugby coaching CVs - with one clear exception

One of the most difficult problems I can see. facing the Roar is these sane articles we are now reading.
The sensible approach, the open discussions looking at both sides of the situation, the apparent honesty, these will be difficult after last year.

'Talent can be fickle': Schmidt avoids rushing to conclusions as JOC calls for 'Reds-heavy' Wallabies

Great article again Geoff. I find that this is so difficult to arrive at an accepted method of judgment.
Can it be that hard to be strict on the head area is protected and yet be fair on the complex nature of incidents?

The Wrap: Reds light up Melbourne, while it's lights out for TV over Lienert-Brown concussion

I cannot understand RA, why would you not fight to keep him as a coach? He is honest, trustworthy, has great rapore with the media, knows rugby inside out, is the worlds best coach.

'Everything was approved': Eddie hits back at $2.6m RWC budget blow-out, says Wallabies can build team around young gun

Chaos is the foundation of our sport, from those young days in the under 7s when I asked the coach “What’s a ball?’ to last year when I asked, “What’s a coach?” to this morning when I asked Numpty “where’s your sense of humour gone”.
Chaos is the foundation of our sport in so many ways it’s touching to see so many fans on this site trying to understand our decisions our hope and our bitter disappointment when our sphincter muscle gives way yet again.
I don’t feel shot down in any way I’m deeply touched that you appreciate the fans who will always find ways to stay negative, we will pray for them in the hope that one day our shining light in our sport Eddie Jones will return and satisfy the needs of people like me and them in finding fault in everything.

Laurie Fisher confirmed on Team Joe as Wallabies invited to Ireland's 150th celebrations

It is a surprise that women’s rugby in Australia is underreported.
I started watching the Six Nations Women a few years ago and was hooked. The crowds over there have gone from a few thousand to fifty Thousand plus. I now follow women’s rugby as much as the men’s. With all the talk about the men it is good to see comments like this article.
As the Matildas showed last year what can happen to crowds the AR could take a deep dive into that as Women’s rugby could put rugby in Australia back on the map. Roughly half our population is female, so it should not be too hard to see the benefit in AR backing the women’s sides in Australia.

'Established names meet blossoming pathways' - Ten reasons we’re pumped Super Rugby Women’s is back

Dear Numpty,
I am deeply sorry for my failed attempt at levity, I will endeavour from now on to be serious even though I know I’m doomed to fail.

Laurie Fisher confirmed on Team Joe as Wallabies invited to Ireland's 150th celebrations

I’m so disappointed. So far it’s a sensible decision after sensible decision. If this continues the Wallabies are in grave danger of winning matches or even putting on a good show. This could lead to financial backing and financial stability.
Then I’d have to find something else to complain about.

the question is why protect super rugby? If they can access players from anywhere
What does super rugby need protection from?

But does super rugby then have an overseas option for getting more players?

RA reeling and facing a mass exodus of biggest stars - there are three key reasons why they're in peril

I always find it confusing that players playing OS would not be selected. Soccer has done this and players return to national competition as required.
The decision was made to go pro a few decades ago and so why can’t it be that players have an open choice as to where they play? Money is a draw card as they have a short career and having the choice of OS but not affecting their national chances makes sense. This would mean less influence to switch codes. It also takes financial pressure off AR.
It’s my amateur view but many people know the ins and outs better than I do.

RA's manic Monday and how it will shape the future of the Australian game

I read in a Japanese news outlet that Eddie has been hired as a consultant for the AGM so everything will be on the up and up. Hamish will have a background analysis to pass on to Eddie to avoid being involved in any rumours of pre-AGM meetings.
On the bright side, nothing could be worse than last year so we don’t need to worry about reaching any high standards.

RA's manic Monday and how it will shape the future of the Australian game

The one takeaway could be player safety. I’ve been ko’d when playing and I’m enif now.
One point that needs to be raised is that we learn from our mistakes 1970 get knocked out great 2024 get knocked out not so much. The cost to rugby by not getting in line with what we know now would be huge let alone what it does to the lives connected with these types of collisions.
Sports great, love the game of rugby but this should be a no brainer protect the players and change the way it is played to minimise injury.
Medically we know more so why not implement it? Maybe I’m missing something.
Just to clarify my stance is this, the tackle could be argued about hence 133 comments, my view is player safety being a base as to whether the tackle was legal or penalty or yellow.

'What you permit, you promote': Reds slam late 'cheap shot', HMP set to start ahead of Lynagh in Rebels grudge match

Interesting thought on expenditure, did Eddie bill any calls or internet use to RA. Be funny if he was billing RA for the Japanese job or internet use for zoom calls.
