Funding from bars/pubs for pay TV are quite expensive.

Night games bring in drinkers, money etc.

Us guys paying $30 a month are pee wee compared to them.

Bringing rugby back to the fans: The game should be easier to access and more people-friendly

Apologies CUW

'Best when we're on edge': Cane back for All Blacks as Foster makes nine changes for Uruguay clash

I would agree with you CUW regarding attack, but Reiko’s defense is his weakness (see the try the he gave to Italy).
Conrad Smith’s defense was stellar, the best I have seen, realising centre is the most important position for defense in the backline.
If you are watching the NPC, Wellington are not letting in many points as their centre, Procter is intelligent in defense.
So is ALB.

All I have seen against the ABs is that Bell has been real difficult in both scrums and his running ability. He seems like a prop for the future.

Tupou is all muscle but seems to play poorly in these games. This includes many games vs the ABs. He has missed tackles, dropped passes or lost the ball in tackles (maybe he is overplaying it to prove it against his old country). I agree with the person (apologies) that he would be better off the bench.

But please as a Kiwi, drop Bell, let muscles start.

And some on the bench. 👍

'Going to be a hell of a team': Jones adamant Wallabies can take World Cup by storm despite 0-4 start

They have more areas of growth than inspector gadget!

All Blacks CONFIRMED: Fozzie's HUGE Rugby World Cup gamble, Retallick to miss France opener

With all due respect, the Wallabies were going backwards against the ABs third string front row. Their 1st string were sitting down. Size of the player does not get it done.

Technique is the difference. Skelton is the biggest guy on the field, but Scott Barrett or Whitelock have greater skill. From my perspective Samu should be starting for the Wallabies, he is a very smart player.

The Wallabies were awesome in the first half. But it took two of the top team players to turn the game. Twelve were watching.

He a good commentator. 🤢

Kiwi View: Rookie's 'weird' treatment increases World Cup intrigue as fringe All Blacks look to grind down Wallabies

Um yea. Wellington to Perth. Amazing place.
NZ is a great place to look at, but has fallen apart a little.
Best country on earth, no doubt except they can’t beat my All Blacks.
All the best Wallaby fans. It can only get better.

Mauls are important, but the All Blacks scrum has been quite brutal, winning penalties both with and without the feed.
If you scrum is going backwards then you’re rooted, that is until Ofa comes on and starts falling over.
Does he have some photos of Foster or what?

Kiwi View: The rare Boks moment that showed Wallabies where the All Blacks are vulnerable

Hanson said post game that the yellow for the tackle on Crotty was wrong. Can’t say I’ve ever heard Cheika say anything sportsman like that.

Refereeing the All Blacks

Kiwi fella here.

Meekes is a very good player. He is the sort of centre needed for the Wallabies. He is the Conrad Smith or Ryan Crotty style player who works incredibly hard in defense, sets a great line and doesn’t miss a tackle, while is effective in attack. He quietly gets a ton of work done in some dark areas.

This is what the All Blacks do. A big ball runner a 2nd 5 eight (sonny bill, Laumape) and a solid defensive, quality runner, who can release a decent ball a centre. The Wallabies tend to push for two attackers which in the end lets them down defensively.

Someone like Meekes could change all this.

The Hurricanes have lost their centre Procter for the last two games. He is the man who does that role so effectively. Jordie Barrett (his replacement) who is very skillful cannot just step in and take up that position. The change has shown in their slightly porous defence, yet against NZ teams cannot happen.

I maybe wrong (as I have been many times) but a slight change in philosophy for the Wallabies might help their outside defence.

The forgotten Rebels

I’m a Kiwi, and I’d agree with that.

Are the Rebels good or bad? We're genuinely not sure

Quality article Nick. Obviously a tad biased being a Wellingtonian, but it seems that the AU sides do not have the same skillset or speed in the forwards.

Last week I heard from commentators that the Rebels scrum should dominate, as their forwards were heavier. It is more about technique to win a scrum as was shown by the Canes, which continues to highlight the weaknesses of the AU/Rebels forwards.

It seems to me that the Boks are following the ABs. Theirs forwards are raising their passing game, they are getting quicker/agile and their scrum and lineout has always been strong.

From what I’m seeing, the Wallabies may struggle with Argentina this year.

Why the Canes are still the turnover kings
