That’s fair, my angle is very harsh on a solid component of an excellent team. I’m probably not giving those effort plays enough credit. And if Penrith can convert two years of home-and-away dominance into a premiership, their faith will be vindicated.
Strongly agree with your point about building a team around a fullback, and the fact that the strongest fullbacks are concentrated at the top of the table (bar the Edwards anomaly) is no coincidence.

Part of me thinks that if Edwards is an effective part of such a successful side (which he is), then there’s no need to upset the applecart in pursuit of a premiership.
But another part of me thinks that very few teams win grand finals with a serviceable rather than brilliant fullback. Lachlan Coote is the most limited fullback to win a decider in the past decade, and he was a terrific player.
Smarter minds and closer observers than me will make the call and will ultimately be judged by the number of trophies they add to cabinet.
