Exactly………” All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?” 😂
Israel Folau is reportedly on the verge of an NRL comeback
I hear Kuenzle has also been training at 12 as well as 10 in preseason Jeznez, with Lolesio seemingly a lock in at 10, it’s not surprising.
How do the Super Rugby AU squads stack up?
I read somewhere the other day that a French club is also ready to table him an offer……it’s beginning to sound like he wants out of the Reds.
O’Connor’s vision is what the game needs
Loved him as a ref, though I am biased being of Welsh heritage.
llongyfarchiadau ac ymddeoliad hapus, Nigel.
Owens calls time on international career
Great article as usual Geoff, and yes coaches, players, fans etc have a very important role in the culture of the sport. I mentioned during the the liveblog, that I wish more teams would copy the Argentinian example of having a collar on their playing shirt, and making it look like a ‘real’ rugby jersey…it’s all part of the rugby culture.
The Wrap: Rugby learnings 101 - All Blacks show how it’s done in Newcastle
Isn’t it a 5.10 kick off again to be in NZ Prime Time?
Just checked…..you’re correct it’s a 7.45pm KO, I assumed it was as last time……good job it isn’t!

It will be interesting to see who handles the heat better. Top of 35, low of 24 forecast for Broadmeadow on Saturday.

I hate to be a pedant, but the earliest surviving version of the Book of Revelation gives the number of the beast as 616…… 😛
6-6-6: Where is the big beast of the Wallaby back row?
James played Soccer, Rugby and Cricket, but not sure to what level. Sir Ian would be in his mid 60s I think.
Autumn Nations Cup review
Just an interesting point about the Wales vs Georgia game, James Botham was on debut as player number #1161. He is the grandson of Sir Ian Botham.
llongyfarchiadau, James! 🏉 🏉
Autumn Nations Cup review
‘ Maybe in Rennie’s view a tired Hodge is better than a green Lolesio in those specific conditions.’
I agree that indeed may be the case, but it’s a 23 man game nowadays. If you’re not prepared to use someone under certain circumstances, then pick someone else.
The Wrap: Why Test rugby and Newcastle just don’t go together
Indeed……that’s what happens when Masterfoods is your major sponsor!
The Wrap: Why Test rugby and Newcastle just don’t go together
Great write up as usual Geoff……if Newcastle is punted, we would happily host a game at Grahame Park, Gosford 😁
Whilst Rennie did appear to be frustrated, this little duck is getting frustrated at him. What is the point of picking someone for the bench and then not using him, as he has twice now with Lolesio. Either he is good enough for the match day 23 or not. If you’re not going to use him in those close situations, pick someone you will use.
The Wrap: Why Test rugby and Newcastle just don’t go together
But we did have a decent 10……he just sat on the bench for 80 minutes.
VOTE: DIY Wallabies Tri Nations player ratings vs Argentina
Yet Lolesio has been picked in the 23 and left on the bench twice now……..
Wallabies record second draw of the year as Argentina clash ends all square
Yeah……doesn’t really work that well in English does it ! 😂

Where Australia vs Argentina will be won and lost
Lovely bloke too…..met him at a Brumbies/Sunwolves function, the first time they played in Canberra. Interesting mixture of conversations in English, Spanish and Japanese! 😁
Impey to stand down as SANZAAR chairman
Yep…Cubelli was signed as a replacement for Nic White, who had just left for Montpellier. The Brumbies had a young Joe Powell who hadn’t played a game for us at that time, we needed someone with experience at the time.
Impey to stand down as SANZAAR chairman
Or it could be that the Force and Highlanders get to break up their trip over to NZ with a stop in Sydney…… I reckon that is more likely. Force, Highlanders, Reds and Crusaders would all have to cross the ditch.
Trans-Tasman Super Rugby competition confirmed for 2021
Brilliant……just received the notification from the Brumbies 😁 😊
Trans-Tasman Super Rugby competition confirmed for 2021
Obviously a great talent, but should never have been draughted in to the squad on no Super Rugby experience…..sets a poor precedent.
