I think this has all been blown out of the water. The message was sent and now it is time to play cricket. Could it have been managed better, yes, however you can’t change the past but Arthur has at least made sure the future will look different.
Mickey and Pup throw a well deserved elbow
@Ryman, I am not hoping the Heat lose, I believe however that they will. I enjoy watching records be bettered. Have OKC matured enough from last years loss to get one back on Miami or will the Spurs make it through and grind the Heat down?
Spurs will stop the Heat in their tracks
Was this an “official” trip as the leader of the team?
Mickey and Pup throw a well deserved elbow
Well said @Sheek. The spotlight will soon be totally on Pup, nothing to do with his ability to score runs etc but his ability to lead the team, not just lead the teams scoring!
Mickey and Pup throw a well deserved elbow
Cheers @Bunratty – it was the right call, it sent a message that the little things must be completed or else. The players now know what is required and it should change some attitudes. It’s their full time job and they get paid very, very well for doing it. They (sports people) get let off far too easily today. It is a business and they’re the staff, act like it!
Mickey and Pup throw a well deserved elbow
@Timmuh, “All suspending the players; particularly Pattinson, the others are no real loss anyway” – Does this mean that there should be two different standards?
“It punishes those who did the right thing by taking away one of the team’s best weapons” – it’s a team game and if an individual doesn’t uphold the standards etc, the team as a whole losses out. This isn’t swimming.
Mickey and Pup throw a well deserved elbow
@ChrisB, I work in the corporate sector and appreciate your point. I also agree with you re skin folds etc however today’s teams/cultures are different from the past. Leadership/management put their stamp on a team and players need to push and do everything to maintain those levels.
If you let the little factors slide, so will performance.
Mickey and Pup throw a well deserved elbow
Cheers Jayden for those words.
It’ll be interesting to see how the team now reacts/comes out and plays – not just the next few matches but the 12 months ahead.
Mickey and Pup throw a well deserved elbow
@Strongy – analysis to follow, this was purely a focus on the record currently held by the ’71-72 LA Lakers.
Do you think Miami will overtake the Lakers in the history books?
Spurs will stop the Heat in their tracks
This is looking like it might come off 49ers fans!
Why the 49ers will win the Super Bowl
It has been an interesting and exciting start to the season in particular the Cardinals. As a Packers fans, I am hoping they wind up soon and gain the big MO heading into playoffs time.
Some big games this weekend – Niners taking on NYG in NY and the Pack heading to Texas to challenge Houston.
Go to cameronlarkin.com to previews and to listen to my audio on SEN.
What's with the Green Bay Packers in 2012?
Should be a close and interesting game; likely to come down to a FG attempt in the final moments.
ARI – contenders or pretenders?
NFL 2012 recap - the season so far
I cover the NFL for SEN 1116 in Melbourne each week and last night went through the winners and losers of the week just gone. HOU, DEN, Matt Ryan and the Vikings all walked off the field with the heads held high – some very big plays which made the round very exciting.
The Lions’ special team was a big, big loser; the Jets were terrible and the Raiders and Seahawks let their fans down. The Cowboys stunk and despite winning, the Arizona Cardinals D unit was a loser.
It has been a very interesting and mouth watering season thus far. HOU look the complete team. The Packs offense is start to wake up. The Niners dropped a game but came back strong and the Falcons are playing impressive football.
This weeks round which I’ll discuss on SEN – I am predicting a Cardinals loss … their first of the season.
NFL 2012 recap - the season so far
Bob, I agree with you that the pollies should stay out of it: it is just a game but it’s the A-league … they need the best refs on the ground. With the pollies, they’re thinking about when they leave office and a potential front office job ‘opens’ up.
Mort from ESPN this morning reported that they are closer to a deal – the real refs could be back on the park for tomorrows game.
Controversy, lingerie and the comical NFL
There was total confusion on the field, even from upstairs where the league official sat. It was flat out comical.
NFL: Time to replace the replacement referees
They are also not happy with Mr. Goodell wanting to have a back up pool of refs similar to the AFL and VFL – ensuring accountability is there.
The refs are too concerned that they may be sacked for a week or two for making bad calls. I like that ol’ Roger wants this in place.
NFL weekly wrap: Week 3 shows we need referees back, fast
I will look into and review the tape however it was a phantom call.

The Cowboys lead the Giants by 7pts with 4mins to go in the season opener.
Why the 49ers will win the Super Bowl
By the way: I am a Packers fan – expecting a big, big year and with an improved D they will be hard to beat. I really like the combos in the 49ers lineup however.

KG will be a game time decision: http://espn.go.com/boston/nba/story/_/id/9066149/kevin-garnett-game-time-decision-boston-celtics-vs-miami-heat.
Both teams are going to be up for this huge battle, however the Celtics are the only big team out West that Mimai need to win. This is going to be a close one.
