Nadolo could and perhaps should very well start. He is one of the best momentum carriers in world rugby. He was a vital player for Tigers in their premiership win last season in the UK.

Hes got a limited game, mainly just carrying. And pairing him with Mark puts a lot of kicking and back field pressure on whoever is at 15. But his ability to get over the gain line on first phase or multi phase is a massive attribute

Picking the ideal Waratahs list for 2023

Mark N at full back is not an option. Brilliant player, but is a winger and I don’t think 15 is a position he will ever play.

He still has so much room for growth around his game sense and DM on attack and D.

Picking the ideal Waratahs list for 2023

The idea that DC might go without a 9 on the bench with a 6-2 split is pretty left field. I think there is almost zero chance that happens.

Picking the ideal Waratahs list for 2023

I agree, almost certainly not.

The siege on Castle in review

Hard to get an exact figure for Ricciardo. One article has his redbull salary listed as $6 million, another has it at close to $25 million GBP. He isnt on the Forbes list of the top 100 for 2019 where the 100th earning athlete is Virat Kohli at $25 million USD. So I’m leaning towards him being below the new Simmons money.

Ben Simmons will become the richest Australian athlete ever

Rod Laver’s career prize money (according to wikipedia) is USD $1,565,413. Adjusted for inflation that is about USD $5.5 million. I cannot seem to find an accurate indication of Brabham’s earnings however some sources suggest his net worth at the time of his passing was between AUD $1 – $19 million.

The profile of NBA players today, globally, is nearly unmatched. Their reach into global markets, especially markets like China and more recently India mean these players have significantly greater exposure than historical athletes, even those like Brabham and Laver who competed in international sports.

These days only Football players seem to have greater profile and earning potential than NBA players, along with the top earning NFL players, boxers, golfers and tennis players.

There seems to be growing confidence that they will get him too. I feel like Toronto on a two year deal with a player option (One and One) is the most likley outcome but the Lakers certainly seem to have a good chance.

Why did Anthony Davis turn down $4 million?

I agree. Filling out the roster with quality role players would be the way I’d go. Just seems like it’ll be a superstar now they created the space.

Why did Anthony Davis turn down $4 million?

I don’t entirely disagree, but is the NBL prepared to deal with significantly increased attention and scrutiny. LaVar had no issues publicly challenging and criticising Lakers head coach Luke Walton last year, he will not hesitate to do the same this year. He could say or do some pretty damaging things, so the NBL best be ready. NBL Coaches and Players have never had to be as media savvy as they will now have to be.

However if things do go well for Ball, and I do think he is here to develop, he wants to get to the NBA afterall, then I think we can expect a lot of positives for the NBL and Australian Basketball. Extra revenue will help promote the growth of the game and development of home grown players and the Next Stars program should only become more viable if both he and Hampton get drafted.

LaMelo Ball signs with Illawarra Hawks

I completely agree Swampy. I Think everyone will come to regret passing on Doncic.

I also agree re the bigs. Look at the teams that were in the conference finals, Al Horford was the best Big out of those four teams and he is a really unique guy who does it all and is an understated player. Teams built around bigs just are not successful at the moment. I think Bamba could become a rich mans Capela, but if he believes he is a superstar then he may not be happy in a supporting role. Ayton could be a disaster in my mind too.

2018 NBA Draft recap and analysis

That is a really interesting point, that coaches do not coach for the miss. Still Lue should have been standing right next to the ref ready to call the TO.

But hard to not see how much JR stuffed up.

Who was really to blame for the Cavs' Game 1 loss?

I think It has been reported just today that Leonard is very happy to stay in San Antonio and is likely to sign a Max Contract extension.

But if Leonard is asking out getting Lillard in return is an interesting option, not sure if its enough but as you point out if they do not have the leverage then who knows.

Do you think Portland are better or worse after this trade?

Solving the LeBron James problem

Completely agree. I am actually really optimistic for a Russ and PG13 pairing, and with a healthy Roberson and Adams and either Grant or a stretchy 4 they could be really good on both ends. I have concerns Russ doesn’t have the self awareness to understand his impact on a team can be negative even if his individual stats are great, but would love to be a fly on the wall for that PG13 and Russ one on one conversation.

Here is a thought, could Russ succeed in a system similar to the Rockets. Lots of ISO for Harden and plenty of assists from drive and Kicks. Basically have ISO Russ as the first option and then 3 or 4 release valves on the 3pt line?

What is next for the Oklahoma City Thunder?

Absolutely right, may not be the case. By the same token cannot be sure Hinkie wouldn’t have made the trade for Marco or Ersan, or would have continued trading away players for picks. The only thing we know is that Hinkie did play a very important role in building this team.

Have we already forgotten about Sam Hinkie?
