Great pickup, definitely a point to consider with this concept. Wingard being in the SA side is an error on my behalf, he should be considered for the Indigenous side instead. Hypothetically in this concept, if players don’t get selected in the 40 man squad prior to competition, they will be eligible to play for their state.
AFL State of Origin: Would this Indigenous side be the most exciting team to watch?
I would put Jackson at CHF and play solely as a forward. Nic Nat and English would rotate as rucks. Nic Nat would be the more dominant ruck in terms of ball-winning ability, but English would be more of a dual position player that could overwork the second ruckman of any side.
Would Western Australia be the State of Origin surprise packet?
This side is definitely not robbed of options that’s for sure!

Yeah Cripps would be named as captain, forgot to add it in the article

They would, I’ve got them in a separate team

Patrick Cripps would captain the side, forgot to add that in the piece

English would be a certain starter if he was fit to play.
Funnily enough, I’m actually far from a Richmond fan 😂
Stay tuned for the Indigenous All Stars team about Liam Ryan. I had Acres as the starting wing but took him out because he was injured, love what he’s doing at Freo this year, could potentially be an All-Australian. Chapman was in the conversation but is also injured.
Would Western Australia be the State of Origin surprise packet?
There will be an Indigenous All Stars team so that’s why there’s no indigenous players in the teams just yet. I’m doing an Allies team because there are some states in that mix which don’t have the depth like other states (eg: Tasmania). Also, I’m removing injured players because I’m selecting the teams based on if the games were played today or this weekend. Hope that clarifies it a bit.
Would Western Australia be the State of Origin surprise packet?
Thank you, the idea definitely sounds appealing to me, might have to narrow the field to this century because there will be too many to pick from. Vic Country I think can give Vic Metro a challenge from the teams so far, stay tuned for the last few instalments, a couple of teams could give them a red hot crack.
Could this South Australian side get revenge over their bordering rivals?
It’s definitely not the greatest South Australia side. Injuries to a couple of key players don’t help either.
Could this South Australian side get revenge over their bordering rivals?
Sean Darcy is a Vic Country boy, would’ve been handy
Would this Vic Metro team claim glory if the AFL brought back State of Origin?
Was definitely considered but with the balance of the team, missed out
