Brisbane Roosters maybe crazy enough to work, but the problem is that still isn’t expansion, the Nrl needs really to focus on expansion or relocation to a new area, Perth, Adelaide, Christchurch. Relocation of the Roosters to Brisbane kind of defeats the purpose but I’m sure if Greenberg is reading this he would think it’s a golden idea. Sorry but that’s a lazy mans way out

this relocation/expansion talk by the NRL is nothing more than a publicity stunt in a poor attempt to take the focus of the recent off season from hell. Interesting how the NRL conviently throws this smoke generade everytime something goes badly wrong with several players. Here is a idea, we cant control the players that we have (of course most of those are from Sydney clubs) so lets talk expansion and relocation to change the news headlines from sex scandal to expansion, sorry NRL but your smoke and mirrors routine is getting a little old and pointless.

For me it’s not the design of the jersey that’s the problem for me, although I totally agree that the Broncos jersey looks terrible ( the South’s jersey is even worse IMHO) but it’s the volume of jerseys available. Home, away, heritage, marvel, Anzac, women’s and whatever other excuse the NRL can think of to make you punch out another 160 bucks for something your only going to wear for six months, is the real issue when it’s comes to jerseys. But for the record the best ever jersey was the Warriors 2015 Anzac jersey closely followed by the Panthers 2015 Anzac jersey. Cowboys indigenous 2018 ranks highly as well

Ben Ikin has been bitten by the Sydney tribal bug. Sydney tribalism is over and needs to die for the game to expand. Yes the game was built on tribal fans but it is not the NSwRl anymore and hasn’t been for 25 years. When are Sydney fans going to wake up a smell the coffee? The AFL merged clubs Sydney and Brisbane are two get examples of how expansion should and must happen, even GWS and the Gold Coast have been successful to some point. The Storm is the greatest expansion club ever built. The Nrl already has the formula for success they just need to repeat it again in Perth

I’m talking about ten onwards. Definitely once they hit high school it’s time to embrace the not cheat but work harder then the other competition to win.

This wishy washy style that everybody gets a trophy garbage really needs to stop. Children need to learn fast that the real world is not interested in people just rocking up to get a participation medal, that only the best get the rewards and the rest get left waiting tables and cleaning up the others mess. I want my kids to be the ones having thier mess cleaned up by someone else.

Could not agree with your article more David, it takes more than just the players to make a sport happen. Other sports such as the Ufc even recognised fans for thier contributions to the sport. Full well knowing it’s “not real wrestling” but the WWE’s hall of fame ceremony done annually is probably a excellent example of how a hall of fame should be done. The Nrl should copy this idea and have members added annually before grand final day.
