Melbourne's 29-point victory in the elimination final Friday night unveiled a tall forward sensation in Sam Weideman. The breakout game from the 21-year-old showed…
Yes they will always want to go home, but which teams are the ones that seem to keep getting the star players when they want to head back home in Victoria?
The advantage of certain Victorian clubs
Very good point, and that is what I mean, I see McGovern as the third tall who pushed up the ground as Lynch does very well. But again how does McGovern make an impact in Freo’s forward line when what they really need is that dominant forward just like Hogan? I can see McGovern having some impact but not the same impact a tall dominant forward like Hogan would.
Why Melbourne should trade Jesse Hogan
McGovern isn’t the kind of player who can be a main forward in a team. So I don’t know why you would wan’t McGovern. McGovern plays well as the second or third tall as he does at Adelaide behind Tex and Jenkins but I wouldn’t be giving up pick 4 for him if he had to play as a main forward at Freo. Taberner and McCarthy are the same kind of player as McGovern, that’s why Hogan would make a significant difference in Freo’s forward line because he can play as the main forward and he is a real presence.
Why Melbourne should trade Jesse Hogan
Couldn’t agree more but I think back to my point it’s up to Melbourne firstly to understand Hogan’s long term commitment to the club and to see the best possible deal they could receive and if Freo were to give 2 first round draft picks it would make it very interesting to see what Melbourne would do. But every player does play football to win flags and as you said that’s what Melbourne are destined to do.
Why Melbourne should trade Jesse Hogan
Not sure where you’re getting your facts from mate but he is contracted until the end of 2019
Why Melbourne should trade Jesse Hogan
If you were Freo who would you rather? Jesse Hogan or Lachie Neale and a first round draft pick? Every team needs a key forward, and if you were able to get arguably a top 5 forward in the game at the moment, in Hogan, I think you would be prepared to give up Neale and a first round pick to get Hogan.
Why Melbourne should trade Jesse Hogan
The main advantage for any club it obviously success, but certain clubs have an advantage that they play in big games where everyone is watching and they can make a name for themselves
