A super result for Adelaide United who jump up to fourth place for the time being while Sydney FC sit precariously in sixth position with the Jets and Wellington to play tomorrow. The Reds dominated for large periods of the match and played some beautiful especially in the first half. The game was only put to bed with Bruce Djite’s goal in the 88th minute after Matt Thompson gave Sydney hope with 15 minutes to go. In truth, Sydney were second best by a long way and resorted to a robust game plan to stifle the Reds flowing possession based game which ultimately was unsuccessful.
