Almost everything has been said or written about the City Football Group. In September 2020, they made front page news in France after buying…
Pablo Longoria just turned 35 in June, yet he is already the president of one of Europe’s most popular clubs, Olympique de Marseille. Scout…
That s exactly why they wanted to be part of the Super League. They aren’t able to make ends meet as it stands … A salary cap should be on the cards in the rest of Europe IMO, now that it s happening in Spain.
How will Inter Milan recover from their off-season setbacks?
what a coup for PSG. Messi and Sergio Ramos are bringing exactly what is missing in the capital, immense talent and professionalism. If it gels… it’s going to hurt.

Red Bull for example can’t have Leipzig and Salzburg in the same competition so I m fairly certain that s the rule
The City Football Group is ready to take over French football
Althought that s how I ended the article, I don’t think Troyes will be setup to win Ligue 1. If I m not mistaken, they would not be allowed to play the UCL if City is in it anyway. I think they ll be a team of young and seasoned Ligue 1 players, and the CFG will see how much they can own without spending much.

They have not spent any money so far, so they are safe. I doubt they ll make Troyes a “big” club with big names signing, more a club where Man City youth can be loaned, and they ll also use it as a good way to scout young French players easily.

I couldnt agree more. Same with PSG/Qatar, whatever Saudi Arabia want to buy next, etc.
So money driven, and corrupted.
PSG right now is free balling.
Transfers are all bullshit (when OM exchanged Ake for Tongya with Juve, see the Griezmann-Saul happening soon).
And it s probably worth a whole article itself, but the way French clubs are run makes it even worse, as they speculate on how much they will make from selling players in a year or 2, rather than on money they actually make. The CEO of the football financial police in France was saying that he reckons 2 or 3 professional clubs could file for bankruptcy in the next 12 months if they can’t have fans in stadiums or if the TV right issue arises again

Yeah and they picked a team who was already playing positive football. Keen to see them this season!

That s all I wish them, let s see. The real star was Galtier though, and the players were coming in thanks to Luis Campos.
Not sure Gourvennec-Letang can do as good a job, but time will tell.
We hear in France that Renato Sanches is as good as gone (Liverpool), and that they might receive a good offer for Botman.
In my opinion this past season was a perfect storm for Lille, and PSG lost 8 games, their biggest tally in 10 years.
2 seasons like that in a row would be surprising.
Why Marseille's 35-year-old president could take his team to the Champions League
I would be very surprised (and happy for them) if Lille are in the title race this season.
I expect OM to be inconsistent at first, but Sampaoli in charge is the X factor there. I think Lyon under Bosz and Monaco will bother PSG, but ultimately PSG should crush the competition this year.

No argument there. That s the reality of our sport unfortunately.
