I guess that even letting the touring captain decide whether to bat or bowl can only really overcome things so far with this degree of pitch doctoring. Not batting last on it is at least helpful though.

I doubt Warner has aspirations to captain a state or national side, more likely he doesn’t want to be pushing around a zimmer frame in a retirement home still subject to the ban. In his position, I’d feel the same way.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but the more someone trumpets their own honesty, the more sus I am. It’s a pretty good sign that they’re trying to influence your perception of them, in their own interests. “Trust me!”. It’s like a sales pitch. Alternatively, there’s also often self-interest in trying to persuade you to distrust someone else, so as to control whatever narrative. No one’s as virtuous as they would have you believe.
