CONFIRMED: Wallabies land final piece of coaching puzzle as ex-Lion signs on ahead of showpiece event
Sure but is it a reasonable inference, that having a single os player come off the bench only for us to lose by three points to the world number 1 ranked team, that if only we’d had a domestic player come off the bench we’d have done better?
You count a game with a single os player off the bench as supporting your argument.
Maybe we need to see a squad of 40 with majority overseas players and then judge?
Scrap the Giteau Law: Rugby Australia should look to Rassie's 'Boks RWC recipe if it wants to re-join the big boys' table
Your position remains completely unproven though.
You’d need to rank quality of opposition, show number of os players, reference the quality of players we had in a particular match given some missing. Show some actual detail and a bit of nuance before you can extrapolate.
At the moment, Oz losing to Ireland 13-10 in Dublin is a a game we only lost because Will Skelton played 38 minutes? It’s possible we only got that close because of him.
His presence in the side and the result actually tells us nothing.

So the 100% win rate with domestic only (being the 2022 Wales game) suggests that overseas players are why we are losing other matches?
Is that really what you are trying to argue?

Hope the comeback goes well. Can be an important player for the Force and Australia if he can stay on the pitch.

I get what you are trying to show but don’t think you are successfully doing so.
Can you show increased performance when there have been less overseas players in the team across the same period? (While playing similarly ranked sides?)
If you could show that you might have something, right now I don’t think you are showing anything.

How about Michael Hooper 2021?

Farthing. What about all the domestic players in those losses?
You show nothing to suggest that more o/s players might not have improved us.

One point of order though. It’s a Giteau Rule not one of the Laws of the Game.
A self imposed rule that has been given a fair run and it’s time is done.

They’ve got a much bigger broadcast deal, it is still an issue for them but not as big of an issue as it is to us trying to run on the smell of an oily rag.
If those numbers stay low and impact the next broadcast deal for NZ then it will be a major issue for them too.

No idea KP, looked pretty sparse to me. Would guess somewhere between 5-8,000 but that is a pure guess.

Really not sure the Tahs were insolvent. They said they were challenged but would have been able to operate.
No debt last year.
No massive signings in the offseason.
Hooper finishing up, Donaldson not re-signed since they couldn’t afford the increased contract once he became a Wallaby and all the other player turnover they had will have more than covered the players that came in.
Almost everyone called out how good the Rebels squad looked at start of season, great to see them performing on the pitch.

Mate he went to Endeavour High. His old man is the coach of my local club’s women’s program.
