Here are some other questions which might have been asked (though presumably not answered):
* Why was DR guaranteed his position until the RWC?
* What due diligence was done wrt EJ’s departure from the England set-up
* Did EJ flag this “rebuild” program before his appointment?
* Why have you allowed EJ to shift the narrative from “smash and grab” to “rebuild”?
* Does EJ have to justify his squad selections to anyone at RA?
* Can you identify a single area in which the Wallabies have improved since EJ’s return?
* How many RA staff (excluding coaches and support crew) are at the RWC, and what is it costing?
* WTF have you been doing for the past three years if you had already identified the need for a “rebuild”?

I agree it’s not feasible in the tight timeframes currently available, but if they’d started developing this expertise a few years back when the women’s 7 series started, in conjunction with the participating unis F&TV schools, then it could be a different story.
Peak SR audiences of 100k suggest a potential subscriber market of about double that. I suspect many subscriber would be more than happy to bypass the debacle that is Fox 🙂

Those numbers seem manageable, though the $10 m in costs seems over the odds. How much does it cost to broadcast a game? Even if its $100k, there’s no way 100 (Australian-based) games per year get broadcast.
But thinking about this further, why doesn’t RA form a broadcast company with the eight unis that run women’s 7s teams as joint partners? It would provide a terrific opportunity for aspiring student cameramen, sound technicians and commentators. I imagine the quality would be sufficient for the women’s 7s series and club games. SR and Tests would be professionally outsourced, but as a good number of those would be covered by FTA the costs should not be excessive.
And speaking of 7s series, why isn’t there a men’s version running in October/November on Friday/Saturday night when there is little live sport, featuring the 7 NRC teams and three local invitation teams from whichever city/state is hosting?

Serious question- why is a media partner needed at all? What’s to stop RA outsourcing the filming to a specialist live-stream company, privately engaging a commentator or two, and selling subscriptions to access the stream via their own website? I don’t believe there are any regulatory hurdles (?). It cuts out the middle man entirely. RA could have:
complete control of their schedule,
a variety of subscriptions packages
arrange for one game per week on FTA
have an extensive back catalogue of classic games

Gower and Botham were always worth watching. I was also a fan of Thorpe, Russell and Fraser, none of whom got the recognition they deserved in UK imho.

There are plenty of sports where the umpires / referees don’t apply the rules as they are written. Both teams bat and bowl, so there’s no equity issue. I’m not sure anything needs to be done.

It’s been obvious since before the tournament but Khawaja can only play as an opener. So bring in S March for him (not that I’d object to dropping Finch and Uzzie opening but that won’t happen) and bring in the extra bowler for Stoinis. Leaves the batting thin but still the best option IMHO. And if we only play one spinner Nylon deserves a go.
But the pitches are the key. When they do a bit and 270 is a good score we are fine. If 300+ is par then we will struggle.
Selectors have made several dumb mistakes. There is no need for 5 quicks, Khawaja should have been left out if not opening, need another big hitter in the middle order, and no back up all-rounder. None of thee mistakes require hindsight.
So, which Marsh should replace the injured Marcus Stoinis?
