LISTEN: Irish impressionist's hilarious take on Eddie Jones is scarily accurate

Thanks Nick.
Well said.

'We feel lied to and taken for fools' - the decisions (and consequences) of 2023 could haunt Australian rugby FOREVER

Bula vinaka!

Your complete guide to picking another RWC team to ride now the Wallabies are flambéed

“Do you have any regrets this year around parachuting back into the head coaching role and any bullish public statements you made?”

Christy – you appear to have a thing about using the term “parachute” over and over again in many of your articles.

For the record:

1. Eddie was dropped from a great height. There is no actual evidence of a parachute being used.

2. We all know what happens when things are dropped unexpectedly from great heights. Behold the outcome of this event.

Cheers.

'How did mighty Australian Rugby get to this': McLennan says he has 'no' regrets, outlines three areas to fix

Eddie, Hamish and now it seems Christy appear to be channelling Jack Burton:

“Just remember what ol’ Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol’ storm right square in the eye, and he says, ‘Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it.’”

Interestingly, the Australian rugby public and most Roarers are doing the same:

“Son of a b%&ch must pay!”

BRING IN JACK BURTON! – and make Australia great again!

Eddie Jones should be celebrated not booed: Why the worst thing RA could do is sack the Wallabies coach

Given the state of the Anzac’s in the current tournament Rocky, having a Plan B appears to be a wise move.
Still so much to enjoy…

One day Virgil, one day.
Dare to dream…

Your complete guide to picking another RWC team to ride now the Wallabies are flambéed

“Your complete guide to picking another RWC team to ride now the Wallabies are flambéd.”
Perhaps a more appropriate article title?
“Flambé” – a cooking procedure in which alcohol is added to a hot pan to create a burst of flames.
Similar in so many ways to what is happening with Australian rugby supporters, journalists, and administrators this week.
Cheers.

For some reason I had Billy Joel pop up in my head while reading this article and the comments.

Now I can’t get it out of my head.

Sharing is caring….

“Hamish and Eddie had had it already when the World Cup campaign went awry
From the high to the low to the end of the show
For the rest of their lives
They couldn’t go back to the greasers
The best they could do was pick up their pieces
We always knew they would both find a way to get by

Oh, and that’s all I heard about Hamish and Eddie
Can’t tell you more ’cause I told you already
And here we are waving Hamish and Eddie goodbye

(Oh, oh, oh)
(Oh, oh, oh)
(Oh, oh, oh)

Back to work for me too.

COMMENT: Kumbaya to chaos - if RA's boss is throwing in the towel so early, what exactly are we doing in France?

😂 😂 Who is John?

And I am not grumpy…. just amazed that we can be feed this unsubstantiated over-stated and often contra-indicated drivel.

Bad manners is not to object to the blatantly inaccurate or unsubstantiated !

(I always wanted to use the word “unsubstantiated” twice in the same post).

Mission accomplished (to coin a phrase).

Remember us? The soft reminder the Wallabies remain a RWC threat - and the one selection headache for Fiji

““White has a responsibility to ensure his fellow playmakers play at the right end of the field.” Shouldn’t the playmakers take that responsibility? ”

Absolutely!

Remember us? The soft reminder the Wallabies remain a RWC threat - and the one selection headache for Fiji

A few observations from this “article”:
“As was their strong discipline, which saw the Wallabies give away just seven penalties – their lowest number this World Cup cycle.” Wow! – that’s a stunning turnaround against a team now ranked 7 places below them (it was Georgia by the way).
“Captain Skelton was colossal.” – colossal meaning “extremely large or great”… yeah … I see what you meant there…. and you followed it up immediately afterwards with “ He might have lost the best part of 10 kilograms since returning to Australia in late June to start the Wallabies’ World Cup campaign, but to not just cart his 140kg-plus body around the field on the hottest of days…”.
Nice work!
And amongst all the great leadership speeches in the history of sport – ““Just do your f—king job” really rates up there with the most insightful and inspirational.
Reminds me of the one I was on the receiving end of at Ryan Crotty’s old club New Brighton in the late 70’s as we stood under the posts at Rawhiti Domain having conceded a try – if my memory serves me correctly it went something along the lines of – “ we can DO these C*&T’S!!”. Inspirational!
“would not have looked as silky as they did in attack,” against a team now ranked 6 places below them….
Somehow using a more literal meaning of the phrase : “would not have looked as soft, fine, and lustrous as they did in attack” – might not impress the South African or French as much as it did the Georgians….
And then the startlingly unsubstantiated and speculative “That’s an aspect that he will have to improve because Kellaway would not have simply been brushed away.”
WTF?
Who are you to make calls like that – Seriously!
“The relief is the nippy halfback was smiling on the sidelines” and even better “The bad news is Nic White remains off the pace with his tempo.” – please refer to fellow Roarer Cec’s excellent summary of what REALLY happened after Tate went off….
Even Fast Eddie disagrees… “Look, I wouldn’t say that,” Jones said. “Maybe you’ve got that judgement but I wouldn’t necessarily agree with you.”
Who edits this stuff (activities of a specified or indeterminate kind that are being referred to, indicated, or implied)???

Remember us? The soft reminder the Wallabies remain a RWC threat - and the one selection headache for Fiji

And so Christy and his un-named “our” gave Nick a 4.5.

Go figure.

Any retort Christy?

What has Cec missed here?

Player ratings: Skelton, Tupou Wallabies' best despite Donno's day out in World Cup opener

Based on the quality of the opening statements and the generic “our” of the “player ratings”, I take the rest of the article and the “ratings” as highly speculative and not worth a lot – especially after reading some of the more objective and perhaps more accurate comments.

Looking forward to better as the tournament progresses to justify your junket.

Player ratings: Skelton, Tupou Wallabies' best despite Donno's day out in World Cup opener

“Here are our player ratings.”

Who exactly are “our” Christy?

Player ratings: Skelton, Tupou Wallabies' best despite Donno's day out in World Cup opener

“All the Wallabies needed was to bank five points and move on, hopefully injury free. To that extent, mission accomplished.”

And then: “Only Tate McDermott has an injury concern, with the free-running halfback set to miss next Sunday’s clash against Fiji following a heavy knock to the head.”

Duh?

Sorry Christy… you ‘ve lost me in the first few paragraphs.

Player ratings: Skelton, Tupou Wallabies' best despite Donno's day out in World Cup opener

“The Wallabies’ winless start to 2023 has come to an end just at the right time.”

Call me a pessimist, but I calling BS on the opening statement.

The right time was 5 matches prior to Georgia.

Tell me I’m wrong.

Facts?

You are on the Roar my friend.

Facts are checked at the door – opinions are the currency of preference here!

Great to read your pearls again Spiro.

SPIRO ZAVOS: The best team in the tournament, not necessarily the best team, will win the 2023 RWC

Talk is indeed cheap.

Beware the All Blacks after a (comprehensive) loss.

Just sayin.

'It's everything': The craziness and stupidity that must be addressed if Eddie is to be proven right

Excellent post JN.
“the Wallabies build up has been all about its coach and little else” – can’t argue.

I’m calling it early but I’m predicting that the knock-out phase will be dominated by the officials and that cards will cause lopsided outcomes.

Despite this I’ll still be watching…

Good luck to all!
