Totally agree with the majority of your comments 13th. Lyon has to make the 8 this year which does look extremely unlikely. No way Longmire, love to see Justin Longmuir ex Freo player now under Buckley and 8 seasons at the Eagles to be there next year regardless. The majority of the list confidence levels are shot, due to Lyons way of coaching and they are lacking in belief. This has happened to Wilson as you said, he is not half the player he was at GWS. Love Ross or not that is why Neale walked out, he said he had lost belief. The list goes on Mayne, DeBoar, Crozier and Collins to name some who had lost it, they have moved on and are thriving now. This club is screaming out for a new Young coach. Dew is a pretty good example of what can happen.

Eight talking points from AFL Round 4

Wait till Sandilands and Ballantyne get back !

Eight talking points from AFL Round 4

We have probably have seen the best of Dangerfield, Martin and Fyfe and Cripps could get even better.

Eight talking points from AFL Round 4

Cripps against all the odds keeps playing his gut out week in week out and is all class with no weakness at all. By far the Best player in the comp. and more importantly the most consistent.

Eight talking points from AFL Round 4

No, Pyke, Hinkley and Lyon are not going to last much longer. Port losing at home to the depleted Tigers was terrible. Full credit to Freo gutsy effort without Fyfe and Hamling. Why did Ross let Gaff go unattended for so long unless Andrew had the measles ?

Eight talking points from AFL Round 4

I am more upset than Macca, Blues denied me big pay out. I did predict a few upsets. Melb. GWS, Saint’s,North and i cannot believe people writing off Essendon they will get better if Daniher can stay on the park.

Eight talking points from AFL Round 4

I enjoyed it because the high intensity of the game and the huge pressure Freo applied, Most thought without Fyfe it was going to be a walk in the park, including me, but it was not the case. I think Freo deserve a lot more credit, rather than say the eagles were down, the eagles foot passing skills were exceptional. Freo lost there key back man Hamling early as well. Ross allowing Gaff to run around unattended was hard to understand. Throw in 50,000 eagles fans also was not ideal. Great night out all the same. Cant’ wait for the next one.

'No easy fix' for timid Crows' issues

Give up the blogs, and enjoy more.

'No easy fix' for timid Crows' issues

Spot on Sammy, Pyke, Lyon and Hinkley are in a world of there own. Need to get to ground level at least occasionally. With runner restrictions now they need to get more involved at ground level. Ross has become like Malthouse donning the binoculars.

'No easy fix' for timid Crows' issues

Freo V Eagles was not a awful game….a lot of skill errors yes, but a very sodden track did not help. Go back and look at the replay, the eagles back line and midfield kicking was superb. It was a great Contest…….If Gaff had not had the measles, Freo probably would have won.

'No easy fix' for timid Crows' issues

De Goey is hugely talented and will probably improve in time no doubt, a goal kicker but has a lot of improving to do to match Bont’s all round talent. Not in the same class yet by a long way.

Collingwood vs Western Bulldogs: Friday night forecast

Ryan Nyhuis is named as a emergency, he has shut down Liam Ryan in the WAFL on 3-4 occasions in the past, hopefully he comes in for Wilson who is sadly out of form, and will probably get belted by the Eagles smalls, his one on one defensive skills have always been his only weakness, but even his kicking has been letting him down this year. Even good players need to be dropped to regain form.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 4

It is a weekend of upsets, the winners not picked many are Melbourne – GWS -Essendon – Richmond – North – Carlton – and even the Bulldogs and the Saints could easily win. Only one certain winner has to be the Eagles.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 4

Brayshaw is showing absolutely no signs of backing off, his intensity at the football has been first class. Averaging 17 disposals and 6 tackles per game in three games to date, it is amazing after what this kid has been through. To suggest he will play at Peel this week is stupidity, at its best. Apart from kicking two out on the full he is going extra well. If anyone goes back to Peel it should be Wilson kicked 5 out on the full against the Saints, plus he is sadly out of form.

All eyes on Gaff in Saturday's spiteful Western Derby

The Eagles will be in the GF no shadow of doubt about that…..If Geelong do make it they will have the huge advantage of playing at home ( Victoria) at the MCG where they play heaps of games every year. Eagles only get to play a couple there, but the Cats will not make it anyway, so don’t get excited. GWS will probably be the other team.

The Eagles have the flag at their mercy

Totally agree Downsey, Walters played a great game but he like Hughes, Wilson, Langdon and others are fumbling, turning it over far to regularly, there confidence is lacking. A player of Wilson’s class has kicked out on the full on more than six occasions the past fortnight he is badly out of touch. Whats up ?

Eight talking points from AFL Round 3

The last Derby in August 2018 the Eagles kicked (21) twenty one goals…….So one would except that the Eagles could “score easily against Freo’s back line”. One big plus is Rioli is out, he has smashed Freo in the past.

Eight talking points from AFL Round 3

Freo’s back line is not the problem….averaging nine (9) goals a game for the last two matches is the real issue…….Coaching staff ??

Eight talking points from AFL Round 3

Frustrating is too polite, is correct Scott. Lyon will go into defensive mode big time against the Eagles, and if he does they will get mauled. Let them play with freedom even though it may not change the result. This club needs a complete new coaching staff to become a contender.

Eight talking points from AFL Round 3

I think people are like sheep, getting a little carried away with two wins, i hope they make the finals but this team is no way near the great Lions sides, your dreaming.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 3

I agree James, do not write off Woosha or his team, they will bounce back, they will make the finals.

AFL shouldn't copy football's shameful treatment of coaches

Kelly, Green & Ward are big, but Gaff, Rioli & Nic -Nat is similar, that’s where home ground comes in to play. GF at the MCG sets up a great game. Hard to see eagles being beaten at home and they finish on top for mine.

AFL Power Rankings 2019: Round 2

Mayne kicked 18 goals straight in 2012 before he kicked a behind.

Ten talking points from AFL Round 2

Peter- Chris Mayne in 2012 kicked 39 goals and only 7 behinds. In 2013- 37-12…….
In 2014 only 13-11 after a poor finals series in 2013 his confidence became shattered…
In 2016 – he kicked 18-17. Ross continued to play him week in week out despite his confidence and bad loss of form, he should have been sent back to the WAFL or changed his position which finally did happen in his last 4 games at the club off half back and he showed a bit, because he always had ability and gave 100%. Great to see him doing so well and credit to Buckley. Ross broke Chris at that time.

Ten talking points from AFL Round 2

Polly- Golly gosh…no knock on Fyfe as a player Pavlich was captain in the GF year and when he won the brownlow but quite clearly he is not a leader of men
