Yes, but my guess is they’re analyzing/reflecting privately, but not stating that publicly.
For example, that they didn’t declare in the 4th test is likely because privately they realised they made a mistake declaring in the 1st. Some other factors likely contributed (let Johnny score some runs) but if they were carrying the same mindset they had in the 1st (to take a risk to get a result), I don’t know why they wouldn’t have declared in the 4th.
I don’t think they should’ve declared in the 4th but. There was too much rain for a result. But the best chance they had of winning was if they declared earlier, so there was a change of mindset there.

If you don't worship Bazball then you know nothing about cricket - just ask anyone from England's deluded cult

That Johnny bairstow interview was quite something. I thought he might’ve kept his mouth shut until then because he had the self awareness to acknowledge that he too had stumped and tried to stump people in a similar manner several times. But no, it turns out Johnny didn’t speak all that time becuse Jonny’s not very good at speaking or at self- reflection.

Up until that interview, I was thinking I didn’t mind if England won the manchester test because they had outplayed us and deserved it. But after it, I laughed as the rain came down and they all moaned about it, hearing darryl Kerrigan’s voice on the wind saying “suffer in your jocks”.

it’s probably the best team to pick.

Rain is forecast all day on day 4 and 5. Even if it doesn’t rain all day, it’s likely to be overcast so the pitch isn’t going to dry out as much as it usually would and there’ll be some swing and seam.

Also, England have picked almost the same team, with stokes and woakes as their two all rounders. Ali isn’t a much better spinner than head, so similar there too.

England are playing one day cricket here, so picking a one day attack that includes a couple of all rounders is a good way to go. They’re not batting for hours and they’re getting themselves out, so the allrounders are still likely to get wickets.

If the forecast were hotter, one day spinners like zampa or maxwell wouldn’t be a bad option.

The Cummins hate from certain folks on this thread is getting quite entertaining, similar to the one-eyed tribalism of US politics. For example, an argument that cummins is trying to please everyone, from people that he isn’t pleasing, is quite hilarious.
