Nope, would never be able to decide because I can’t summon up the passion and I didn’t grow up in a football-loving household.

Just an example of namesakes. I suppose NRL’s not big in WA?

Nope, not a big football follower, just big on my cricket and motorsport.

No worries there mate.
For starters, Josh Kerr plays for the St George Illawara-Dragons.

Fair enough.
People seem to have got too inflamed by the fact that I dared to support Fox Sports. You don’t have to like Murdoch to use his services.

Indeed, Peter, sportswise, there is no question that Sky revolutionised cricket and football over here in the UK, in my opinion for the better, that is why it is worth paying for if you are fortunate enough to be in a position to do so.
Packer just wanted the cricket rights on 9, but he knew the game needed to be changed, players needed a wage, and the coverage needed to be improved, with the cameras at both ends.
Both are contentious figures (Murdoch the more contentious of the two) but their respective companies’ approach to sport should on the whole be commended, regardless of what other divisions of the company decided to do, which give the whole place a bad rep.

Also, how ironic that you bring up conformity, then go on to state how I should conform.

When Jofra Archer went home instead of driving straight from Southampton to Manchester in between Tests this summer, he was deselected for the second Test against the West Indies and locked up in his room while he isolated for a few days. That’s the only example I can think of. The punishment is the isolation, which sounds horrible.
England tour of South Africa in the balance
That’s a matter of opinion.
Kudos to you for having the stamina for an interesting debate.
Burns vs Pucovski, Pakistan's COVID woes and misogynistic media: Three talking points from the week in cricket
I’ve never worked as a writer for Liverpool FC – so forgive me for being blunt, but what are you on about?
I don’t defend the actions of the Murdoch media, but most of these actions were from tabloids, not Sky Sports, Fox Sports, The Times and Sunday Times etc. I’ll happily disagree with tabloid culture, but I won’t agree with depriving myself of watching sport or reading a reputable broadsheet newspaper because of its owner. But Sky Sports here in the UK is now free of Murdoch, which I’ll admit has been refreshing.
Channel 7 exposed as desperate and naive in cricket’s messy TV stoush
Fair enough. I’m not defending Murdoch, because he has done awful things, but I disagree with this whole ‘I won’t give him a cent’ when you really want to watch the sport.
No need to question my judgement – I live in the UK, Sky Sports was bought from News Corp by Comcast (owners of NBCUniversal) so I’m in the clear.

Just pay for it anyway, it’s top-class, innovative coverage, just forget about the bloke that owns it, you don’t get any brownie points for making a stand, and enjoy the cricket.
Channel 7 exposed as desperate and naive in cricket’s messy TV stoush
Gee, can people stop thinking about bloody Murdoch and just treat themselves to some brilliant coverage of something they enjoy?
Channel 7 exposed as desperate and naive in cricket’s messy TV stoush
Yup, they went in for the whole lot for $960 million (if my memory serves me correctly). They planned to use their secondary channels for domestic cricket (bar the BBL) and generally build on the success of their refreshing BBL coverage.

And with a statement from the Indian team, we now have a better understanding of what’s going on … but it still probably could have been handled better, like I said earlier.
ESPNcricinfo: Concussion rules Ravindra Jadeja out of rest of T20I series.

India's concussion loophole sets dangerous precedent as Australia crumble in first T20
At the end of the day, you’d hope that Boon was given all the correct details before making the decision. There probably needs to be more transparency so we can get to the bottom of this, because while Jadeja might indeed have been concussed, as you say, Scott, how do we know that for sure based on the next to nothing we have right now?
In other news, Australia needs to say sayonara to Abbott, work on the death bowling, and give Short the hurry up when he’s batting. Yes, kudos to India, but Australia capitulated twice in three days.

Apologies for misinterpreting your ‘misogyny meaning sexism’ bit.
But I still disagree with you.
Cricket Australia disagrees with you.
And so do many Australian cricket journalists.
Burns vs Pucovski, Pakistan's COVID woes and misogynistic media: Three talking points from the week in cricket
Far from the case. I have not made any incorrect statements, or what I believe to be incorrect statements. You just cannot believe that women’s cricket is worthy enough of decent exposure, not based on its gender, as you suggest, but because of its quality, which makes it no different to the men’s game.
You said the following: “The real meaning, not the changes version the feminists use to push their barrow which is actually sexism.”
Please explain why you think it’s acceptable to say that.
Burns vs Pucovski, Pakistan's COVID woes and misogynistic media: Three talking points from the week in cricket
Ironic considering, if you believe what has been taken as gospel by most, Seven sold on the one-day rights to Fox.
Tasmania deny paying Cricket Australia to host Big Bash fixtures
Take it whichever way you want. I do know the definition, for what it’s worth. I’m just not going to continue to debate with someone who insinuates that feminists are sexists. As much as you can say it, it’s something that doesn’t sit well with me at all.
Burns vs Pucovski, Pakistan's COVID woes and misogynistic media: Three talking points from the week in cricket
You’re more than welcome to disagree but, as I have explained, I cannot agree with a network deciding to put the flagship game of the women’s domestic cricket season on a secondary channel and, as such, treat it as being secondary, something that would not happen in the men’s game, where it would be on the main channel, regardless of quality. Quality is something which the women’s game does have and Saturday’s WBBL final was a good game. Progress has been made but women’s sport still gets poor treatment by the media sometimes, and, by the response in this comments section, some members of the general public.

So you’re ignoring the fact that it was an increase because it doesn’t fit with your narrative.
And you’re ignoring the fact that the overall figure was 429,000, which is higher than 225,000 for Frozen and also ignoring the fact that the game would likely have got more viewers if it was put on the main channel to maximum exposure.
Like I’ve said elsewhere, I’ll leave it as agree to disagree because we’re reaching an impasse here.

Micko, I don’t normally ask this, but this isn’t a joking matter for me so, while I can see the funny side of your comment, I’ve just got to say don’t joke, please.
