All has been revealed. Yes there is resentment about not taking Paul Henry.
“…it also makes them more irritable and liable to deep-seated hatred of the world and all its inhabitants.” This may provide a deep insight about myself , thank you.

The insurmountable problem facing Australian rugby in a doomed rivalry with New Zealand

The kingfisher that the ancient Greeks mistakenly thought nestled on the sea.

Super Rugby shows that the Bledisloe Cup isn't going anywhere - one selection could give the Wallabies hope

Frizell was the best loose forward at helping to keep your own ball. People turned more in his favour when he did those big runs last year but he always was the best 6.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

Blackadder at 7 is really a selection to get both Grace and Lio-Willie into the starting lineup with Christie rested.

Yes Geoff but this very same season earlier he wasn’t doing any of that. The consistency of messaging is lacking. Play in this fashion then next week have a go, play what is in front of you. I know it is not all the coaches fault but Dermody has shown a pattern for the last two seasons in charge as well his tenure with Tasman where at the NPC level he had a dream squad that struggled to score points from very slow ball.

He shouldn’t be Muzz. That was not Super standard rugby.

Thanks Geoff for the read. Highlanders Force was poor quality but they were trying I guess. I can’t say what went wrong for the Force but the Highlanders just look bewildered at what they are trying to do. Patchell did look like he knew but only lasted 20 minutes. It was interesting that Harmon said that the coaches had just told the team to have a go. I’m thinking the coaching group is out of ideas as their plans before have simply not delivered progress but regression. A player like Fakatava needs clarity about what the team is trying to do. If you take that away then you get what resulted on Saturday night.

That was bizarre. The ref made an assumption based on his bad line of sight for that tackle. Buck (Bok) fever effect.

'Purely coincidental': Chiefs coach defends bruiser after ANOTHER late shot leaves Tah flattened - but was it legal?

This is important. The game is under threat of being extinguished if it cannot get on top of the repeated concussion problem. We can slap each other on the back about how tough and brutal we play the game but that will soon become a distant memory when the game is sued out of existence.

Are they using the mouthguard technology to measure impact? I don’t like what Finau is doing but for the most part it is legal. He is a good player and doesn’t need this in his game. I suspect he has been given a brief to do this by the coaching group.

Some good early calls by the ref blowing his whistle can have a positive effect.

ANALYSIS: Single biggest issue causing Brumbies headaches - and why it can be traced back to Fisher's departure

Missed tackles can be a misleading stat at times. The wingers for SA will often miss the tackle but it is still a good result as the ball carrier is directed infield to the heavy hitters. The Highlanders used Malaki Fekitoa to lead the line in this fashion to snuff out a promising attack. You would see a stat saying he missed a number of tackles but the ball would not make it to edge or the rhythm of the attack was gone as supporting runners would lose positioning.

If the counter ruck was used more then the other pack will need to commit more bodies. Then there should be more space. This is why I think refs need to apply law 15 more about players leaving their feet at the ruck to stop the pile up of the forlorn hope there.

Look it up AN the conspiracy is right out there. It should give you a good laugh.

George Nepia made his New Zealand debut 100 years ago, but was he really an All Black at just 16 years of age?

I think about 600 votes. Everywhere is nice down here. If in the mood for quiet and coastal scenes then the Catlins.

Nepia and my grandmother would of likely of been roughly the same age. I’m on the Maori roll but will be leaving it next time because I only got 4 candidates to choose from. I ended up voting for the Tartaria conspiracy guy as I was not going to give any validity to the other 3.

One possible reason whysome sides are not contesting the breakdown is fear of a penalty being awarded with the lineout drive in the 22 coming as a result. I think the teams that follow that approach are not reaping any benefits and are just exhausting themselves in the repeated tackle.

Thanks PD for this. In rural Maori communities it was common not to have a birth cerificate produced. My grandmother’s birth year like George’s was uncertain.
Apartheid as we know it was not implemented till 1948 but there was clearly an informal system of racial exclusion going on well before then. It is shameful that the NZRU did this in 1928 as not to offend their hosts.

If the Highlanders keep with the same ridiculous gameplan of the last 2 rounds then Rodda and the Force are going to enjoy their game under the roof.

Super Rugby teams round 10: Marky Mark replaces Pietsch, Rebels' LSL blow, Flook boost for Reds, Alaalatoa to start

Great to have Dunshea and Tucker available to help Holland out. Hopefully a bit more vim and vigour at home for the Highlanders. Is Nareki dropped? He seems to of lost his cutting edge lately.

That was really odd body language by PPP. Strange that in one carry he was still difficult to put down. He has become one of those what if players.

He has also now has a better roster than last year.

SANZAAR automated email response: Hi, I’m currently on leave and will be back in the office on May 9th 2025. Please send any urgent enquiries to the NZRU, RA or the guy who picks up my mail when I am in Bali.
Cheers.

😂 you’re talking about every side in rugby these days. Highlanders were just junk at the breakdown.
