MATCH REPORT: Kellaway hat trick helps Wallabies close Rugby Championship on a high

Like last week? 😂 Mate I know you’ve got a lot of love for BB, but you have to admit that really wasn’t great last week. No variation at all.

We can’t persist with that if it goes the same way this week. At least we have Weber starting which should help.

All Blacks team: Weber at halfback, ALB returns, Mo'unga on bench as NZ chase 'Grand Slam'

He may get more than 20 if BB doesn’t handle the rush defence.

Yeah I agree actually, thought he was talking it up for the media. I think all of them felt they were in a hell of an arm wrestle. One of those ones where you start to wonder exactly how much your bone can take before it snaps.

Looking forward to the next game with both teams getting some key players back. Also hoping (dreaming?) for some small adjustments to the game plan from both teams.
If the Boks just adjust to go after the space when it’s on a plate and the ABs play a little more direct and maybe vary their play a little more we could be in for a cracking game. Whichever way it goes.

The Wrap: Tense, gripping clash of styles falls the All Blacks' way

I saw it but didn’t think the was anything in it. It was a opened handed push with the palm, dumb sure, but nothing in it. You could even see Lavanini give a little smile in the slo-mo after it happened then immediately appeal to the Ref or touchie (not sure which one was in that direction.)
Lets not get over excited about these things when the handbags come out.

Quote from Joe Moody in stuff: “It did get very frustrating,” he said. “It almost felt like I was hardly getting a sweat on,” he said. “Literally just about every stoppage someone was going down and having a smoko, so it would be nice if something could be sorted with the officiating this weekend.”

Wait a minute! So he is the heir to the BBQ empire then? 😛

He was pretty disappointing for the Mako on the weekend I thought, hopefully he can improve on that.

When Marx went down the ref initially tells Pollard to play on if the SBs are going to go for touch(they did,) and he will stop the clock at the lineout (to wait for Marx.) Then the ref asks “is it bad?” To which the reply must have been yes as he called time off and tells players to “just take time, time’s off”. Marx gets a rub on the ankle and some cold spray and then pops up without issue and is then running perfectly fine less than a minute later.
The ref didn’t manage it at all well in my opinion. If it’s serious then he should be replaced, if it’s not then play on.

I expected the ABs to kick a whole heap more. To keep plugging the corners, compete at the lineout and counter attack from the inevitable box kick. I thought the Wallabies laid out a fairly good blueprint of how to play against the Boks – keep kicking it back to them and make them play.
I expected we would see the ABs try for a 50/22 at least once or twice in that game. I hope whoever of BB and RM varies the play a lot more next week and chooses their moment to spread it wide rather than shoveling it on and putting the next man out under pressure. Better service from the 9 is key though.

SA View: Heartbreak in the 100th as Boks 'set the table, kill the calf and forget to eat'

Especially against the Boks in a tight game, any scoreboard pressure you can accumulate is gold. The Boks don’t have a lot of points in them so keeping the scoreboard ticking over is very valuable.

Have another look at the overhead/high angle shots of the scrums, where they show one.

Boks coach bemoans 'bounce of the ball' as youngster's massive play secures All Blacks win

The penalty for pushing the halfback after the pass I thought was pedantic. It happens multiple times in a game and I have only ever seen it penalised for a late hit or shoulder charge.

Agree, haven’t been a huge fan of TJP for a while but that was a shocker even by his standards. I thought he had actually been fairly decent in the games prior aside from his painfully slow delivery.

I would rather see Webber start with Christie on for the last 20-30 mins.

It was SA 916kg to NZ 913kg according to the Sky sport broadcast.
