Interesting piece of trivia about Selby-Ricketts dad, he is the only man to play for the All Blacks but never wore the black jersey.

Dispelling the myth that the All Blacks struggle against the rush defence

I guess looking at playing my England in England the Black Caps have a most recent series win and Australia have a series draw.

Playing against India, Australia most recently have a series loss and lost the last test and NZ won theWTC against India. I could go on…

Black Caps grab sweet revenge over England to reach T20 World Cup final

Playing India in England was a reward for two years of solid results. Not a planned way to get more points.

You might’ve forgotten the Black Caps just won a series in England, more than Australia can say on their last attempt.

I’m glad NZ are ranked No1. It pushed back to Aus Eng and Ind that just playing five test series amongst yourselves might be best for money, but there are downsides.

Didn’t NZ beat Aussie in the pool stage in 2015?

Barrett was also the flyhalf when they completely dominated the Irish 21-9 in Dublin.

Also played ten in large wins against the Boks and French during that time too. You cannot say that Mounga has been better under pressure than Barrett any more than you can say that Barrett is more of a flat track bully than Mounga

World Rugby's player of the year award is back: Who's your pick?

Pretty horrible six nations doesn’t a World Player of the Year make.

Ritchie’s been at 10 for both the England and Argentina loss. Hard to say he plays better against the tougher teams.

I couldn’t agree more.

But what about my knees? I’m sure they were aware of the risks 😂

No they don’t but they do gain protection from them, the Accident Compensation Act removes Haymans right to sue NZR

I agree, but where do we draw the line, can I lead a class action for all those retired players with dodgy knees from rugby?

He doesn’t have any avenue to sue the NZRU as they’ve covered under the Accident Compensation Act which covers basically anyone in NZ from any injuries and accidents, you lose the right to sue in return for no-fault insurance for personal injuries.

Thanks, couldn’t agree more.

I’d also like to add that the art of wrapping looks like a swinging arm in slow motion as well.

The laws of rugby and their loose connection with common sense

Can anyone point to in the law book it states how a tackle should be made? As far as I can see there isn’t a definition of a tackle in there.

Another point, we should all stop mentioning “led with shoulder” that is how a tackle is supposed to be made, that is how we were all taught, lead with the shoulder and wrap the arms.

The issue in the tackles in question were either no wrap or head contact. The phrase he led with the shoulder shouldn’t come into it at all.

Because the sanction for a deliberate knock down in the law book is a penalty. It can be upgraded to a card should it stop a probable try or probable linebreak, Brett is right, neither were probable here so the referee got the call right.

Mexico have played those teams 23 times without a win. Scotland have played NZ 31 times. Not a huge amount of difference.

MEDIA REACTION: All Blacks in 'Harlem Globetrotter mode', Wales a 'sorry rabble'

You know Mexico are currently ranked in the top 10 in FIFA Rankings but have never once beaten Spain or Portugal? In fact there are 13 countries they’ve played but never beaten. So much for a global sport.

England why are ranked in the top 5 have never beaten six countries they’ve played, like proper football power houses like Ghana and Saudi Arabia…

One would’ve thought that would be the case when the Lions came to visit too

'Is it entertaining? No': All Blacks legend speaks out against Springboks' DNA

What I was alluding to was that even if they’re not advancing they can stand still and still be 50m offside but after 5m of the opposition running with the ball they can be back onside again.

The Boks and All Blacks should try again

At one stage I heard the referee call use it and it was 12s before it was skied again.

The Boks and All Blacks should try again

If only the rules were that simple.

As long as you’re not within the 10m circle of where the ball lands after a kick if the opposition does any of the following you are then deemed to be back onside even if a team mate has never run you back onside:

Carries the ball five metres
Passes the ball
Kicks the ball
Intentionally touches the ball without gaining possession of it.

Rugby is a complex game.

The Boks and All Blacks should try again

It is the most participated sport in NZ too.

I guess SA would’ve just kicked it away anyway which is usually advantage over so thought he’d give them a chance to actually play some rugby?

Also Sampras only has 5, he’s tied with Djokovic. A quick google search will clear that up?

I enjoyed your article. Just a small point Federer has 6 year end titles. Djokovic has 5 for the time being.
