By all reports 2021 is a much stronger draft so I can’t see Carlton trading next years first rounder.

Why the Crows shouldn't bid for Jamarra Ugle-Hagan with pick one

Don, how will the Dogs get McDonald? Their first pick isn’t until 29

I didn’t say it was ok for him to do what he did, I said I hoped she got charged with assault as well because without her belting him whilst he was asleep this probably would never had happened.

Whilst I don’t and will never condone hitting women i read today that he woke to this girl punching the crap out of him after they both went home together from the pub because she went through his phone whilst he was asleep and seen something that she didn’t like, he retaliated by throwing one back which when you are woken in that sort of state it can be a reflex action. I just hope that she gets charged with assault as well.

I will ask you again Dougie. Why? It’s been proven that Carlton didn’t cheat the cap that year. And what was wrong with recruiting interstate players? Thinking outside the box that netted them 2 premierships, you should be asking why your club didn’t do it.

How good are Collingwood really?

Why’s that? It was proven that Carlton didn’t cheat the cap that year.

Pete, in recent memory Scotland would be the best pick up/loss easily between these clubs.

Clubs who don't learn from history are destined to repeat it

Nick might be a mad Blues fan that typically hate Collingwood Chuckakhan like typical Pies fans hate Carlton and would never want to play for the “enemy” and vice versa. I’m not sure about you but as a Carlton fan when I was 18 if I couldn’t play for Carlton i would’ve rathered play for anyone other than Collingwood and Essendon if I was good enough. Obviously I wasn’t good enough but the passionate hatred for Collingwood and Essendon was. I’m 41 now and mellowed a bit so any hatred to any other club is gone but I reckon we could all agree that when we were 18 we all despised other clubs that had the genuine animosity that Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon have towards each other.

Clubs who don't learn from history are destined to repeat it

I would’ve thought that it would’ve had to be in that trade. Collingwood can only trade picks to get number 2 and you would think the AFL wouldn’t allow it if the picks weren’t worthy of number 2. They’d smell a rat. A top 10 pick and one in the teens would be absolute minimum to get the deal done i would’ve thought

The bluster of the Pies

There’s no doubt Carlton have improved their side but the big improvement needs to come from the likes of Dow and O’Brien who have been in the system long enough to be smashing the selection door down through sheer weight of performance. These blokes should be dominating in the 2’s but they just seem to be going through the motions. The kid’s we got from last years draft have already gone past them. They need to be told that they’ll be off the list and flipping burgers at Macca’s at the end season if they don’t pull their fingers out.

Is the new Carlton line-up really all that improved?

The only real loss out of these 3 will be Curnow’s tagging ability. Murphy has gone backwards the last 2 years and I expect a young bloke to pass him this year

Is the new Carlton line-up really all that improved?

Getting pick 5 is only moving up one spot as they already have 6 and 7. You don’t like being challenged do you Thomas, and get rid of the name calling and insulting people’s intelligence when someone raises a point. You’re carrying on like a 5 year old when you don’t get your own way.

The bluster of the Pies

Not worth even replying to this comment because it’s that far off the mark it’s not funny. Explain to me how pick 16 and 37 which will be about 20 and somewhere in the 40s is worth more than pick 8.

The bluster of the Pies

You can “explain” it all you like but swapping pick 8 for 16 (which will blow out to 20 odd)and a late 2nd round which (which could very well end up as a pick in the 40’s) is a loss, it’s as simple as that. Or Essendon keep pick 8 and recruit 3 of the best players in the top 10. Club’s usually swap picks to move up the draft order but your proposal here is to have Essendon move down the order which in a year like it’s been with not many kids playing is ridiculous as after probably pick 12 it’s a lottery. You said yourself there are 7 or 8 very good players in the top 20 so why would you give up one of these picks only to slide out of the top 20 when you can have 3 of these top 20 players? Makes absolutely no sense at all.

The bluster of the Pies

I couldn’t care less if Collingwood get 2nd pick or what they would have to give to get it, I’m saying Essendon would lose out massively on your proposed deal so they wouldn’t do it. You’re talking in points but points don’t mean anything unless the club has top 20 prospects in father/son or nga which Essendon’s aren’t. Pick 8 is worth more than 16 and a late 2nd round pick especially in this year’s draft.

The bluster of the Pies

He’d probably have the hardest job in footy with McGuire and Buckley overruling him and telling him what is going to happen.

The bluster of the Pies

You can’t be serious. Why would a club move from 6,7 and 8 to 5,6 and 16? How can having 2 top 10 picks and a mid teens pick be better than having 3 top 10 picks? Why get 2 top 10 midfielders when you can get 3? And don’t try to patronise me by your “lack of self-awareness” crap just because I don’t agree with something you have said.

The bluster of the Pies

No because Essendon would lose massively, there is absolutely nothing for them to gain in your scenario

The bluster of the Pies

Like I said, 5 minutes

The bluster of the Pies

These 2 kids will be picked anywhere upwards from pick 50 if at all so yeah it makes sense to lose pick 7 to accumulate points for these kids.

The bluster of the Pies

Why would Essendon do that? Points only mean something if you have father/son or academy players coming in and if they’re top 20 players. They’d rather take the 3 players at 6,7 and 8 then to push 1 pick back to 16. Doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

The bluster of the Pies

Ned Guy has only been there 5 minutes and he wouldn’t have a say in any decisions if Eddie and Buckley were involved.

The bluster of the Pies

Pete, if what you say about Stephenson and Atu was true then that would be draft tampering as it wasn’t in the original agreement. If Collingwood end up with pick 2 then there has to be an AFL investigation because they just don’t have the picks to acquire pick 2. And I reckon David Noble would soon hit it on the head if there was some sort of “agreement”, there’s no way he would allow that.

The bluster of the Pies

Nick Daicos doesn’t even barrack for Collingwood so he might just be happy to go in the draft and after seeing the way they treat their players this year who could blame him.

The bluster of the Pies

Eddie has most likely had the constitution changed so he can’t be pushed out, that’s what dictator’s do.

Why Collingwood supporter frustration needs to be taken seriously
