Sounds like a great idea, but who? Ch7 have the AFL & I doubt they would be open to change. Ch10 stuff up every sport they attempt & I can’t see the ABC even being interested. We do need a change, but we are pretty short on choice.

NRL Round 1 draw dramas: Nine fuming over mediocre season opener as motocross, A-League trigger turf war

I think that is a pretty fair assessment, Albo. I think that Meaney has been good & consistent until Friday & I put that down to uncertainty caused by all the noise about Paps returning &, maybe taking his place. Seve has been, suprisingly, good & Grant hasn’t been bad, but a bit patchy. I also believe the Bellamy having favourites has a destabilising effect on the team. He has a habit of changing a, winning, combination to include one of his faves; often for a bad result. Something isn’t right, at the Club, if our players can’t be motivated to put in their best in every game. It’s been a less than ideal season, in my eyes.

'We go again': Papenhuyzen responds after horrific injury as star goes under knife on fractured ankle

Should have been – played well.

'We go again': Papenhuyzen responds after horrific injury as star goes under knife on fractured ankle

That knee is taking a long time to heal – co- incidentally, Munster hasn’t played since the injury. Brave to be out there, playing with it, but he is pretty ineffective – apart from an occasional kick. Perhaps it’s his kicking ability that keeps him being selected.

Munster is still playing with that knee bandaged. The knee that was stitched up after SOO 3. Reported that it became infected. Seems he may have been playing quite unfit &, maybe, in pain. Couldn’t possibly be at jis best, if it’s true. Grant let the Broncos get under his skin, right from the start. He got angry & lost his focus completely.

'We go again': Papenhuyzen responds after horrific injury as star goes under knife on fractured ankle

I disagree. He shouldn’t have been out there at all. That was Bellamy’s mistake. As I said, during the blog, Paps wasn’t match fit enough to play finals – a huge step up from Q Cup.

I agree with you, Arnab, we were a much more balanced side, on Sunday. Warbrick takes the high balls well, but lacks a lot in defence. He needs work & maturity to become a valuable edge player. Coates is still learning – it has taken him a very long time to develop this far. We need Welsh to get his timing right & Young T to correct his mistakes & we will have a team who can challenge. As long as they play with the same determination & purpose & we don’t have injuries, we should go far into the finals.

ANALYSIS: Raging Ricky 'lost for words' as Storm prove they're contenders by riding roughshod over 'crap' Raiders

Happy to, at long last, see the Storm play out the full 80 minutes & to show direction & intent for the full match. Playing like that, they will trouble others, in the Finals + if they can keep it going.

Hope you’re right. Bellamy is very big on loyalty – sometimes to our detriment.

ANALYSIS: Melbourne never beat themselves and Souths never beat them at all - but where was Latrell for an hour?

I rate Meaney much higher than Coates as a player. So much more valuable in defence.

Clever read, Danielle – couldn’t agree more!

What a dive: why this league fan just cannot commit full-time to soccer

Thanks Geoff, I envy you. Even 20 years ago it wasn’t easy to go to games, but as venues, such as the Tennis Centre, have been enlarged, it has become a destination only for the very fit & those who live close by.

Finals Five: Raiders heading into next week after Kris falcon - but did Melbourne actually win?

All very true. My remarks only addressed game day attendance. The NRL struggles down here, eg Ch 9 news (the broadcast rights owners) most nights doesn’t even mention League. England’s Premier League gets much more coverage.

Have any of you critics ever tried to get to AAMI Park when a big game is scheduled at the MCG? Impossible to just get in your car & rock up – very, very limited parking & all sorts of traffic restrictions. Our esteemed State Governments have established a sporting precinct, expecting fans to use public transport. AFL games are heavily favoured. That’s when you get to the city. Be prepared for many ks of bumper to bumper, stop start driving before you arrive. Count yourselves lucky for the ease you have going to see your team play.

They were good! Like you, I hope for a top performance, next week, against the Roosters. They are in great form & will be a huge challenge. For me, it’s still one week at a time, but I sure hope for big things.

Pretenders or contenders? This will be Brisbane's biggest game of the season

All true Davooo & I hope your optimism pays off. I really like to win, but this year, due to our horrible run of injuries, I will count 2022 a success if we finish top 4 & don’t bomb out in straight sets.

Pretenders or contenders? This will be Brisbane's biggest game of the season

We have only had the one “good” win, so, imo, we still have a long way to go before thinking about playing in a Grand Final.

Pretenders or contenders? This will be Brisbane's biggest game of the season

You have to add the Roosters – so often the brave under-dogs playing with so many injuries – most of last season.

“The Storm are close to being 100% healthy”.
Are you saying that Paps, Welch, Kafusi & R. Smith – all 1st choice players – are just incidental loses that won’t be missed? Your bias is really showing.

100%, Tony. Love what the .jumper represents, not who wears it.

Patched up Sharks down Dragons - and Tariq might have played last game after horror shot

Doubt it, Tony. I don’t, often, change my mind because someone puts wears purple. Definately haven’t liked every Storm player over the years.

Patched up Sharks down Dragons - and Tariq might have played last game after horror shot

No way am I a Sims fan – don’t think it even deserved 10 in the bin. It was as a high hit die to the opposition player falling; no swinging arm. In fact he seemed to withdraw his arm. The result was a bad look, but that shouldn’t dictate the punishment, in this case. I hope the young Shark recovers quickly.

Balanced comment, Geoff.

Love the way you think, Davooo.

Great selection! We’ll build a team yet.
